steelers will beat baltimore and go 4-0. after that ben with the bye week can focus on getting back on the field, and regaining his touch against cleveland before we get to the nitty gritty part of the schedule.

Derek Anderson will throw at least 4 picks vs San Diego but AZ still won't try to trade for Kolb because they still believe in Anderson. :banghead:

Was there ever any report that said that the Eagles were open to trading Kolb? I know there were reports saying that other teams called showing interest, but never heard anything saying that the Eagles were willing to deal him.

Not really but i'd be shocked if he didn't demand a trade after being benched due to injury, then coach announcing he's still the starter, then benching him again. He's doing the right thing by staying silent but behind the scnes i can't imagine he's content there. Multiple teams have shown interest but it's difficult to gauge his value (draft pick wise) if Philly isn't 100% sure about trading him, but if things get difficult it will hurt the team and ''according to sources''' the team is behind Vick now so i can't see him staying. I'd throw em a 2nd and 4-5th for him though...

Competitors want to play, ecspecially after they've already been given the job. If he's fine being the backup then so be it.

For a year? I dont see the big deal. Now if The eagles decide to keep Vick longer, then I agree.
I mean how much more confidence does he need from the front office when he was given 12million and they got rid of their other starting qb.
He also knows the system.

Jeff Fisher will become the eighth coach in NFL history to coach at least 250 teams with at least one franchise.

The other seven to do so are:
George Halas (497 games, Chicago)
Tom Landry (418, Dallas)
Don Shula (392, Miami)
Chuck Noll (342, Pittsburgh)
Curly Lambeau (334, Green Bay)
Steve Owen (268, N.Y. Giants)
Bud Grant (259, Minnesota).

Congrats to Fisher on joining elite company. Hopefully he can get himself a ring or 2 but i'm araid he'll be remember along the lines of a Marty Schottenheimer/Dan Reeves.

Derek Anderson might be bad, but at least he's had a season where he looked good. Kolb is bad, and hasn't shown anything at all, and is getting a pass.

The worst thing a QB can show is the inability to improve. Anderson is that guy, he gets worse every year. I'll take my chances with someone who has potential like Kolb.

Kolb has potential to be Derek Anderson without the size or the arm

Seriously, Anderson isn't the answer, but neither is Kolb, Philly giving up on him fast showed that, they really don't believe in him at all, they just needed to sell the fans on trading Donovan.

I think Kolb getting benched had more to with Vick than it did with how they felt about Kolb. You don't give a guy a 12 million a year contract if you don't believe in him.

DA is a scouting nightmare because he shows the ability to perform at a very high level and does that more often than he gets credit for. But when he's not on top of his game he's awful, not even worthy of a backup gig. Coaches are arrogant enough to think they'll be "the one" that can get consistent greatness out of him (or players like that) and it totally stymies the team. SF has been doing that with Alex Smith for years now when most everyone can plainly see he's more the problem than the solution. Cleveland was that way with both DA and Quinn before Holmgren came in and dumped both of them because he's pragmatic. Shanahan did that with Campbell and it's why he dumped Jake Plummer so quickly when he had a shot at Cutler in Denver. I'm wondering when the good folks in Cincy realize it with Carson Palmer...
