Rumor has it that the pick traded will be a third. Couldn't the Patriots get the same/more in compensation if he leaves after the season?

If it happens, the Jets face him this weekend. Cromartie has looked good against him and Favre has been having a so-so season. For future Pats games, we can now slide Revis against Welker.

Got to say very pissed off Pats fan here. I just don't get it.

I'm a Jets fan and I don't get it for you. You guys are 3-1 and trading a huge deep threat so early in the season. Even if he wasn't being targeted, he took a lot of defensive pressure off your other receivers.

Maybe the Pats are acquiring a pick for Vincent Jackson?

I am assuming they are ready to unleash Brandon Tate?

An angry Moss is probably not something you want going down the stretch. Moss looked sick to his stomach last night when he went without a catch. Also, keep in mind the team that is trading him. This is a team that is allowing a pro bowl OG sit at home, because the owner wants a public apology for being criticized.

With Welker looking healthy, Brandon Tate looking like a real stud, and the other weapons they have. Moss is expendable, especially an angry one. And they are going to get decent compensation for a player they have no intentions on resigning.

Alright well now CSNE is reporting that moss caused a real issue in the locker-room last night and today with BB he had words and the pats said they're done.

ehhhh, IDK how much I believe this one. First it's tanguay. Second, more reports would have came out about it. Third, why would moss wait all this time to act up. Just cause he didn't catch a ball? Ehhh I just don't know.

I hope he styled on BB. That guy needs to be knocked down a couple pegs.

If it does go down eventually you have...

Moss
Rice
Harvin
Shiancoe
AP

as weapons for Favre. Damn, that's crazy.

Next season, QBs will be lining up to play for Vikes.

3rd round pick is fair value for an old reciever with 1 year left on his deal. He's still a top 10 WR and should help Minny.

Looks like the trade is going down today. The Pats can kiss goodbye any Super Bowl aspirations they had this year.

Edit-- Deal is officially done, no extension for Moss.

What this says to me:
1. Sidney Rice won't be back this year with his injury. He's still on crutches.
2. Belichick thinks Brandon Tate is good enough right now.
3. Favre is pulling the strings.
4. This came together FAST. A Vikings beatie and I were texting Monday and he called it a "pipe dream".

Blah!!! He doesn't know this though! The only reason these young guys performed so well was because Moss was in there taking out the opposing teams best CB. Moss was the second most important player on that offense, and we just give him away.

I've been stroking the "in bill we trust" thing since mid-way through 2001. But this is complete and utter bull.

His final year at UNC Tate was considered almost as good of pro prospect as Hakeem Nicks before he hurt his knee. Tate is faster, though he is a couple inches shorter, but the kid is a beast (both guys are). I think Tate is going to have a similar impact on the Pats that Nicks has had on the Giants, albeit he is more of a gamebreaker than possession WR... I think he'll become Brady's favorite deep threat by the end of the year.

Wow: Pats will have double picks in rounds 1, 2, 3, 4 of 2011 draft. Their picks plus Oakland's 1, Carolina's 2, Minnesota's 3, Denver's 4. http://twitter.com/adam_schefter

The way we've been drafting lately, the plan is to trade the two first, third, and fourths, for 4 second round picks. So we will have a total of 6 second round picks. 2 will be solid players, 2 will be busts who end up on other teams, and 2 will be out of the league by 2012.

While I believe the Pats have drafted well the past 2 seasons. Draft picks really don't get me too up on this team.

Just comes at a crappy time after a very big road win against the Dolphins you trade your best reciever. Now if they went to trade for Vincent Jackson I'd be very happy, but we all know that's not going to happen.
