Due to the fines and penalties for hits. While I do think the reaction to the hits recently is too much retiring because of it is insane. I hate james harrison because hes a dirty player but retirement? Thats just crazy.

that's why the NFL is the no fun league. i understand safety. but players can't even sneeze without getting called for a penalty

he just needs to put his tampon back in

the nfl has gotten away from real tackling in turn for bigger hits and the ratings they garner

NFL way too commercial for my taste.

so he wants to retire because the league won't let him play dirty?

Ohhh boo-hoo.

Sounds like a little kid who didn't get his way, so he's taking his ball and going home.

Dirtiest player in the league. He intentionally leads with his helmet during games. I don't want to wish anything ill on him because it's going to happen anyways. This man will either paralyze himself or another player for the rest of his life.

the thing these players dont realize is that: leading helmet hits put them at risks for brain injury down the road, aside from the immediate injury it can cause to both parties....from a medical standpoint, there is a concern

like ive said, the art of tackling has been lost in lieu of hit harder for ratings

I don't know what this "art of tackling" stuff is. The rules have consistently gotten tighter since the game began, because guys were head hunting. Tackling has always been as dirty as the rules would allow, people pretend that past generations were all form tackling and playing clean, when it was really worse.

Hell, if anything, the clothesline was the most popular form of tackling for a long time

Anyway, there was no way he was really retiring, I dunno if anyone really believed this, I sure didn't.
