Post#1 » by Icness » Mon Nov 1, 2010 6:55 pm

It will hit the wires in the next hour, but I just heard frmo two reliable sources that Minny is releasing Randy Moss.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Because of the press conference?

I just don't know what to say. What a wacky year it's been.

Hopefully he joins up with Philly. Has a decent year, signs there for the rest of his career and ends on a good note.

How does the waiver process work for something like this?

Teams can put in the claim, the team who claims him and has the worst record wins the claim. The Vikings pay his salary for the rest of the year.

Yeah waiver process confuses me as well, if the bills claim him, does he have to join buffalo? That'd suck for Randy.

Nothing in the NFL this year makes much sense
Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well-warmed, and well-fed.

Yes. Unless he just wants to sit out for the year I guess.

Well that sucks for Randy then.

A listof the teams records

I can't see the worst 4 signing him, but maybe Denver? Moss set records with McDaniels offense. But they seem set at WR.

Wow this makes no sense. Hopefully the Bears can pick him up.

I thought the Vikings only have to pay if no team claims him & he becomes a free agent. If a team claims him then they're on the hook for the rest of his salary this year.

Saints Saints Saints!

I don't think any team is going to claim him unless he says he'll play for them. It's not like they can claim him and trade him next year.

If Moss isn't claimed he will be free to sign with any team. Any team claiming Moss on waivers would owe him nine game checks (out of 16) of his $6.4 million base salary.

Got to think the Jets will claim him just to block the pats bid.

FWIW, From Jason LaConfora's twitter

Texting with a few general managers in Randy Moss - several believe he ends up back with the Patriots.
