Round two by seeds or record?

Post#1 » by kyrv » Mon Jan 3, 2011 9:17 pm

Okay my question is, for round two, when they do the pairings, is it by record, or by the original seeding?

In other words, if the Eagles and Saints win, do the Falcons have to play the better team (Saints) because they are a lower seed? Or do the Falcons play the team of the two with the worst record?

An article I just read said 'best remaining team' but didn't really say how that is determined.

On the radio last night, they said the Bears could NOT play the Packers (#6 seed) in round two, that would mean it's by original seeding, as Atlanta would play the lowest/worst seed left, and Packers are lowest seed of all.

Thanks and go <insert your team here>. :)

Number 1 seed plays the lowest remaining.
Number 2 seed plays highest remaining.

If Green Bay wins, Atlanta faces them. If Philly wins, Atlanta faces the winner between New Orleans and Seattle.
