S Bob Sanders Released

Post#1 » by Kal El » Sat Feb 19, 2011 10:35 am

who didn't really see this coming? 9 games in 3 seasons. injuries has definitely come a plenty with the once NFL defensive player of the year. But when healthy he SINGLE-HANDEDLY turned the Colts defense from the bottom of the league to championship contender form.

can he rebound from the last 3 injury plagued seasons?

I would love the Texans to give him a one year deal. It would be hard to expect the same bob sanders from 2007 but he may just be the right player to turn around the worst passing defense in the NFL.

Looks like he is in Jacksonville at the moment, would love to have him as long as the contract isn't over the top. We could definitely use the secondary help.

When he's healthy he's a big time game changer, but the the problem is he's never healthy.

I just heard he has now left Jax with no contract and will be visiting Bufalo next. Apparently he wanted more guaranteed money than Jax was willing to offer.

Hopefully his next team visits feel the same way that Jax did and then the Jags can sign him, similar to what happened with Tra Thomas a few years ago (except Bob isn't from Jax lol).

Wasn't Sanders from Iowa? Maybe the Hawkeye connection can help us out there. Kamp and Kirk can hopefully put in a good word for what Gene is building in Jacksonville.

Good point, that connection definitely helped us land Kamp last year.

I'd give him a vet minimum contract, no guaranteed $$, and depend on him to be nothing more than my 3rd safety.

^ yeah from injury history alone, it would be improbable to expect anything more out of Sanders. but even if it maybe a pipe dream, i'm still hoping sanders can come out and be healthy and play at a high level.
