Disagree completely about Brees being more valuable. Rodgers was the sole reason the Packers had the regular season they did.
The Packer's defense was terrible. The WRs had a ridiculous number of drops and were a huge reason the Packers lost 2 games. Against KC they had like 9 drops, including 2 or 3 third down killers. Against NY there were also huge momentum killing drops.
Also, Rodgers, unlike Brees, had zero support from his running backs. In fact, you could make the argument Rodgers was the best runner on the team. Brees on the other hand had 2 and sometimes 3 good to great running to run the ball and catch out the backfield. Sproles is the most dangerous receiving back in the league and Pierre Thomas was a beast as an outlet receiver.
Even without those safety valves, Rodgers still managed to protect the ball at an amazing rate for his production (better than Brees).
Brees had a superb year and he and Rodgers are fairly close - however since the end of last year I don't see how you can make an argument for Brees over Rodgers in terms of value.
