What teams do you think will pursue Mario Williams?

The Bears are the favorite according to CSNChicago.

A "number of NFL sources" tell CSN Chicago that the Bears are considered around the league to be the favorites for free agent Mario Williams as Tuesday's 4PM ET signing period approaches. http://www.csnchicago.com/football-chic ... 353882-914

NFC North QB's beware if chicago lines up him and peppers.

I want the patriots to get him. Won't happen, but a pass rush is needed.

Mario Williams (6-6, 283) on one side & Julius Peppers (6-7, 283) on the other side is a dream tandem as bookends of a D-Line.

Peppers is getting close to long in the tooth and Mario Williams is very good but he's also overrated. Not a pair of dream DE's in my mind, as neither one individually is a dream DE in my mind, so together they are great, but certainly not a dream tandem. And Mario's going to have to play in more than 5 games this year to have a shot at scaring anybody in the division, can he do that? Maybe, but how do you know? He didn't play in more than 5 last year. I'm not going to bed thinking about him tonight. I'm a Lion's fan and if I was the QB those guys wouldn't scare me. Hell they'd never touch me because if they ever got close I would do this thing called throw the ball up in the air to Calvin frakking Johnson.

^^^^^Relax man. It's only a discussion about free agent signings.

My problem is i'm probably too relaxed if anything, and I'm just discussing it too, your reply seems to suggest i'm doing something else, i'm confused as to what the sentiment of your reply is all about.

Texans cut Eric Winston, arguably the best all-around RT in the game today. They are going make or break with Mario tomorrow AM, and the Winston move is most certainly related. They're going to lock up Chris Myers first though.

Have you seen either one of those DE's play before? They would be an amazing set of DE's, right up there with Freeney/Mathis. Him getting hurt last year isnt a big deal, players get hurt. Not to mention it wasnt like he blew out his knee or something. You cant throw the ball deep if you dont have time to throw it.

There's more onus on the DE getting to the QB in time than for the QB to get the ball out soon enough, advantage QB. The QB only gets hit by the DE if he makes a mistake, that should be avoided every time and can be avoided every time and nearly is avoided every time.

And yeah I have seen them both play and I think they are both great players, but I'm not easily amazed, that's the discrepancy. Pretty awesome duo, but not "amazing" or a "dream scenario". Maybe if they both played for free, but they also eat up a ton of money and that reduces the value of their contributions on the field. The Bills are now talking about making Mario the highest paid defensive player in all of a football LOL, another stupid idea. Some teams will never learn. By some teams I mean every single one of them.

And I'd rather have Cliff Avril and the Lion's set of DEs than to have Julius Peppers at his age and salary along with Mario Williams if Mario comes also with the biggest contract of all defensive players in the history of football. So maybe a dream for one guy, maybe amazing to you, but I think it would suck for the Bears and if I was the Bears GM first thing I would do would be to try and trade away Mario Williams. But you know what, I probably couldn't get a 7th rounder for him, because at that point, no team was willing to pay that much money for the guy let alone also give up other material too.

Somebody seems to be pretty obsessed with the Bears.

Looks like Mario won't Chicago bound after all.

He's a real intriguing fit in Buffalo if that winds up being where he signs, and it sounds like it is. Dareus was quietly very good last year and Kyle Williams will be back. 3/4 of a very strong DL, and they all have some versatility to present different looks.

Houston is not out of the running according to some of the local yakkers. Not sure I believe them. I had a brief text exchange with a Texan and he thinks Mario is gone.

I'm holding out hope until he decides to cancel his meeting with us  .

Signing him would be the icing on the cake for me.....Brandon Marshall (two 3rd rd picks & un-guaranteed contract), Jason Campbell (legit back-up QB), & Mario Williams (Peppers twin).

Regarding Mario Williams.
The Buffalo Bills were hoping to wrap up a deal with defensive end Mario Williams quickly, but he informed them Tuesday night that he will visit other teams, two sources told ESPN.com's John Clayton.

Huge pickup for the Bills. That d-line's going to be dangerous as hell.

True, but imagine if the Bears would've got him. Aaron Rodgers agrees with me.
