why are the jets ignoring tebow?

what is with mcelroy being the backup, and now starter? tebow has showed a lot more promise as an nfl qb, and the jets haven't even TESTED how he would work at all. they're passing someone who we know can play up for a guy that was mediocre even in the ncaa? i feel like they really don't like tim.

Already too much media attention with Tebow not playing. Imagine how much worse it is if he does play.

They see him in practice everyday, so they know if he's a better option. Clearly he's not based on practice evaluation.

All I recall from Gruden during the game, he said after each posession the QBs and offensive brain trust huddle, like its some sort of UN meeting, and make it look waay too difficult than it is. Its as ive mentioned before, Ryan is not only an idiot in leadership, he is an idiot in his hires. He hires sparano . . . because appearantly . . . the last stint in Miami when he got fired . . . showed Ryan something.

Tebow can not play QB at the pro level. The guy isn't even able to throw a spiral. People over hype what he did in Denver last year, that was a combination of great defense and an insane amount of luck. Tebow will never be more than a Wild Cat specialist.

if this really is the reason, then i agree with people that the jets organization doesn't know what they're doing. that's a ridiculous reason.

he's a better pro qb than greg mcelroy.

Sadly, that tells you everything you need to know about that organization. The kid didnt complain the whole season, but they just brought him in as a sideshow, and never even gave it a thought of granting him a "serious" opportunity. Truly sad how they dealt with Tebow, a class act. Now the Jets look like a clown organization for doing that.

^THIS is what i'm saying.

the jets invested nfl money into a backup qb they, apparently, have no intentions of using. this is why they miss the playoffs. it's a waste of cash and their ulterior is greg mcelroy, who HAS NOT shown any signs of being pro ready. some folks will disagree but i have been watching both greg and tim for YEARS, and i can guarantee you tebow is the better qb at any level.

Because he sucks?

McElroy, at least, is a wild card. You might find someone worth keeping, even if only as a backup. Everybody knows Tebow and his limitations.

The Jets are out of the playoffs, who cares who is the better current QB?

Tebow is a oil tanker sized bucket of NFL phlegm, who cares if he plays?

As others have said, he was traded for more as a sideshow and ticket/ratings/merchandise draw. Not that that's a good thing, but that's the truth of the matter.

Let the other kid play, maybe you got a diamond in the rough. Maybe, although highly unlikely, he winds up a legit starter or even star. The only way you find out is throwing him in the game. We all know Tebow is garbage. He got insanely lucky last year with a great team around him to boot. Maybe it was divine intervention? :tooth

Chris Mortensen reports that its a "virtual certainty" Tim Tebow plays for the Jaguars in 2013. Looks like they don't think Gabbert is worth much.

i'll agree with you that the only reason Mac is playing is because there is no implications.

That is totally ridiculous, abeit true, the depths and lower levels of an organization, to totally denigrate a fanbase. To totally think of them so idiotic, that they would not figure it out, that you actually HAVE NO PLAN FOR FUTURE SUCCESS BUT GIMMICKS AND SCHEMES. Dump receivers who can be helpful to a passing game. Get rid of mainline key players in areas that would help the team for success. And hire a sideshow to keep peoples mind busy. As if New Yorkers are 3rd graders.

God I hope so and no, we don't think Gabbert is worth much.

well, mcelroy has shown us that tebow's better than him. i hope tim does well at jacksonville because he's not leaving the league.

He's definitely not going to be any different in JAX. We'll have this same discussion next year, and I think the only reason they get Tebow is to sell tickets to stay in Jacksonville. Tebow will eventually make his way to the CFL, he brings too much negative attention to teams.

yes he is; he's going to be playing. that's very different.

all i ask is that if tebow moves the ball and gets Ws, you give him his due. you guys think it's an impossibility for that to happen but you're wrong. enough about "media attention" and all that, the kid can play quarterback that's the matter at hand.

They aren't ignoring him. Not just anybody can be co-second string quarterback for the New York Jets, you know.
