After spending a lot of time this spring thinking about my NFL future, I have made a decision to retire. Although I could continue playing, I'm not sure I would bring a level of performance or passion that's up to my standards. When considering this, along with the fact taht I could retire after a 13 year career wearing only one jersey for such a storied franchise, my decision became pretty clear. I want to thank all of the people in my life that have helped me along the way. I will miss my teammates, my coaches, and the great Bears fans. I'm proud to say that I gave all of you everything I had every time I took the field. I will miss this great game, but I leave it with no regrets.

It's good to see him go now. His drop off the last couple seasons probably wouldn't have gone much better in another city.

On the bright side, think about the potential HOF class of 2018: Urlacher, Ronde Barber, Ray Lewis, Steve Hutchinson, Matt Birk, Jason Hanson and Jeff Saturday. Jeebus.

I had mentioned it on the Wheelings and Dealings thread when ESPN posted it. I really like Ulracher and I appreciate the way he played the game.

Great player, and really embodied the whole Chicago Bear style of play: tough, physical, nasty(in a good way). Shame he could never win a ring.

Adios to one of the Bears greats. Sad that his retirement is most likely due to Lovie's incompetence (Letting Urlacher play in the final, meaningless game of the season against the Vikes and him getting injured).
