Hernandez not ruled out as suspect

New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has not been ruled out as a suspect in the execution-style murder of a semi-pro football player, law enforcement sources told ABC News on Thursday.

Hernandez, 23, has been at the center of the investigation since the body of Odin Lloyd, 27, was found shot in the back of the head Monday in an industrial park near Hernandez's home in North Attleborough, Mass.

Police say Lloyd was dating the sister of the mother of Hernandez's daughter. Meanwhile, a lawsuit has been refiled in Florida against Hernandez by a man the tight end allegedly shot in South Florida in February. The lawsuit contends Alexander S. Bradley was shot in the arm but the bullet traveled to his head, causing him to lose his right eye.

The dude is in big time **** and he knows it.

The investigator, and other law enforcement sources, confirmed that the security system - which included video surveillance - was smashed intentionally.

And a cell phone used by Hernandez was handed over to investigators "in pieces'' by his attorneys, the sources said.

Police also want to know why a team of house cleaners were hired on Monday to scrub Hernandez's mansion, sources told ABC News.

I hope Brady enjoys throwing to his new starting tight end Tim Tebow.

I am very interested to see how this story continues to develop. As the saying goes innocent until proven guilty so as of now I am holding off all judgement because there is not a lot of definitive information. But as of now it does not look good for the Patriots or for Hernandez.

Of course you want to wait until all the facts come out, but it certainly looks like he murdered his sister's boyfriend. Things going against him:

1) He allegedly shot a man in a face in a strip club in a completely separate incident.
2) He was seen with the victim shortly before the murder.
3) A car rented out to his name was found near the victim's body.
4) Another car rented out to his name was suddenly returned before expected.
5) He allegedly broke his own home's security system.
6) He turned over his cell phone to police....In pieces.
7) He hired cleaners to scrub his house the day the body was found.

Either Hernandez killed the guy or somebody really covered all their bases in an elaborate framing.

The current Wiretap headline reads: Aaron Hernandez Not Ruled Out As Suspect In Homicide Investigation.
 A wise choice, methinks.

Or he's covering up for someone else. But either way it doesn't look good for him.

As of right now, this is what I believe.

A lot of teams were scared to draft him because he had gang ties coming out of college.

He's getting arrested for obstruction of justice.

Not sure how he gets out of that charge.

Apparently neighbours heard gun shots before Hernandez came to the house. Seems like he covered up for a buddy.

He can't be this dumb....can he?

This opens him up to being charged with a lot more. Once they arrest him for obstruction, I believe they can add more charges as the case progresses.

--Accessory to murder?
--Being behind the conspiracy to murder?

He's f***ed.

Sounds like obstruction at the very least. At this point he should hope that he doesn't get charged with conspiracy/accessory/aiding and abetting (not sure what the Mass laws look like)

Not sure he can, honestly. DA's office doesn't even have to prove that Hernandez was involved in that murder specifically, just that he was acting to impede an investigation. Which is really the only reasonable reason to destroy your video surveillance system and cell phone right before the police come knocking.

Even if he winds up getting cleared of all charges but obstruction (same as Ray Lewis), you better believe he's missing a significant amount of time on league suspension.

He was red flagged for character concerns by a lot of teams in that draft year. I never heard about guns but he had some known drug (pot) issues and hung around people that would make Pacman Jones nervous.

He's really in a pickle now. With the obstruction of justice charge, he could tell the police what he knows but then he could get a whole lot more than obstruction of justice. But then if he doesn't talk, he gets the obstruction of justice charge.

But breaking in to your own surveillance system and breaking your phone shouts hiding something. If I was to predict, I would say that he's covering for someone else.

That really is the least of his problems at this point. The only issue I heard about him coming out was the pot issue, which appeared to minor. If he gets a second chance hopefully it's grow up time for him. Hate to see talent like that wasted.

He also had/has gang affiliations:

Personnel sources from multiple NFL teams tell SI that they had off-field concerns about Hernandez. In particular, the questions pertained to alleged gang activity of some of Hernandez's associates in his native Bristol, Conn. A law enforcement official familiar with Hernandez reiterated concerns about his circle of influence.

Combined, the marijuana use and gang concerns worried some NFL teams immensely.

"There were a lot of teams that had him off the board," said an NFL personnel executive.

I don't remember hearing about the gang affiliations. Regardless it doesn't change the fact he's a dumbass that may very well have thrown his career away.
