NFL player pat down

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but before the game they showed the Ravens coming out of the locker room and the refs chose random lineman for pat downs. Why? What are they checking for....weapons?

Saw this too. It was all linemen I think.

Yeah that was weird...I was wondering why they only picked the linemen.
