With the recent trade of Matt Schaub, the Texans are on the verge of something that most NFL experts have known for along time now, Houston will pass on Jadeveon Clowney, and go after a quaterback with the 1st overall pick in the 2014 draft.

It looks to be a three man race between Manziel, Bortles, and Bridgewater. With three very good quarterbacks in the draft, this also give the Texans the opportunity to possibily trade down and just pick which ever quarterback is left on the board, Manziel, Bortles, or Bridgewater.

I'm convinced it's gonna be Bortles

The Texans will take Blake Bortles, but if they get a good enough deal, they will trade down anywhere in the top ten and settle for Manziel.

It will be Bortles.

I'm going with Bridgewater.

Bortles is semi-boom/bust and likely needs at least a year to adjust to the NFL from Central Florida while Bridgewater is smart and talented enough to step in immediately and lead that talented team to the playoffs.

A rebuilding team like Jacksonville or the Raiders would be a better destination for Bortles. I don't think Cleveland would even qualify considering the moves they've made to win now.

wtf. Just take the number 1 talent, the #1 top rated dude. Clowney. Then wait 2nd round and get garrappollo or carroon or metzenberger or whoever the heck is down there. QBs ARE NOT THAT GOOD IN THIS DRAFT. We are just bein force fed these dudes because that's all that's left over. But a position of need will be the sentence that will kill Houston if they over reach and pick up any of these dudes with the #1 pick. The top rated QBs in 2014? They all look like chad henne to me.

If they go QB, i think it will be Bortles...but apparently, Derek Carr isn't out of the question either...i think they should go with clowney.

The connections are really solid for Bortles going first.

Head coach has ties to Bortles current coach GOL.

Texans coach George Godsey was on Ucf staff when Bortles was a freshman.

Bortles played at PSU and put up 34 in front of Obrien.

well i think thats out of question now (clowney), since they would have ryan fitzpatrick at the starting qb position

Rumor today that the Texans are pushing hard to trade the #1 pick. Would dovetail pretty nicely with the rumored Carr interest.

its seems more and more likes its going to be bortles but i hope its not (i want him)

man if texans are going to waste a 1st rounder on a qb, they should just trade the 1st overall selection. Bortles looks good, but idk if you can justify him for being the number 1 pick.

They should trade down and pick Manziel but I doubt Manziel drops beyond the Browns.
