I've been reading dome reports as of late that farmer would consider dealing Johnny football if the right deal came along...was there something I missed I thought he played well in the preseason....I know there was some talk about him struggling to grasp the playbook and terminology. Is there any truth to these reports?

If Hoyer has a good season and you can find an adequate back-up I'd think of trading him to Dallas. There's no way I'd trade Manziel now though. I haven't heard anything about a trade.

Two decent games, two sub-par games. Not bad for a rookie.

None of their QBs did. It was kind of weird in a way.

Clevelander here.....its a bogus rumor. No signs or insider rumors that the Browns are looking to move him.

The browns wouldn't even get 1st round value back.
I mean they already dropped the ball on Trent Richardson drafting him.

They have to ride it out

I bet they could fleece Dallas out of a first rounder for him. Jerrah is obsessed with the guy.

He doesn't look ready to run an NFL offense. Not even close to ready to be honest. Best thing for him would be to sit on the bench for at least a year if not two, especially with how well Hoyer has been playing so far through 2 games.

Man Johnny Football gets a lot of hate. It kind of reminds me of Tebow, though I think Maziel is more talented. It's just kind of weird how people start immediately hating on guys like this. He's a talented, raw, young, rookie.

Manziel just needs to sit for a while. We've seen what strong armed, athletic game managers can do in Wilson and Kaep.

And hoyer is the perfect guy to watch honestly. All Johnny needs is to realize the difference between nfl separation and college separation, as well as getting the ball out quick. Both of those things Hoyer does well.
If we can surround who ever our qb is with goon running backs and tight ends, a game manager can be successful as long as he does what's needed.

Right now Johnny holds the ball too long, and flushes out of the pocket because of that. 2-3 years of sitting he will be 24 or 25. Then we can see what he is capable of.

I will be honest I disliked him in college but as time went on he's grown on me alot...Although I still think he has some maturity issues I saw that his arm wasn't as weak as I thought it was at his pro day...and I his limited time in the preseason that will to win that he has shined and provides a spark thay I don't always see in Hoyer..and even though I am a ravens fan I would love to see this kid save cleveland football. I sure hope the reports are false.

He's not ready yet, IMHO. He wasn't intended to come in and be a superstar off the bat.

People don't like him because the media blew him up and gave him way more attention than he deserved.

The way the coaching staff handled Hoyer and Johnny Football in the preseason was awful, so neither of them had a chance to look decent. They wanted both to get a chance with the first team, and it resulted in both of them not having an opportunity to develop any sort of chemistry in game.

I don't think his talent translates to the NFL. I think this type of QB will fizzle out pretty soon. It's fine when they're only tasked with being a game manager (Russel Wilson), and the team isn't relying on their mobility to win games, but otherwise, I just think that style of play is too risky and unreliable week after week (RG3, Kap, Vick). QBs need to first be a QB. If they can do that and are still able to move like some of these younger guys, then that's great, but it should never be a primary facet of an offense. They excel so much in the college game because speed is such a huge factor at that level. In the NFL their competition is superior.

He will be fine. Hoyer is showing he's a winner so you have to ride him out. That's the only reason johnny's benched.

Nice comments from the coach. If Hoyer has another bad game, I'd seriously think of playing Johnny.

Not bad for his first outing.
