Really was bad. 1 yard line with only 2nd down thanks to Marshawn Lynch who just got a 8 yard rush or so. No way he wouldn't have scored and left the patriots with less than 30 seconds on the clock. He might have even needed two tries so its even less time on the clock.
I think it was ego. Russell Wilson was scared he wouldn't get MVP or he wanted to be like Jordan and be the one to throw the winning TD? Or offensive coordinator/pete carroll got way too cocky and decide to try to trick them with a pass slant.

I'm sitting here just looking for answers.
That's the worst play call ever AND it will not be topped.

I think it was ego too, either from Wilson or whoever called it. Even if that wasn't Russell's call he's got to be smart enough to change play. That was insane.
I don't even know what the basketball equivalent would be because it was so unbelievably dumb. Maybe having a breakaway layup to win it and pulling up for a thirty-footer and missing.

Just same **** 9ers did vs Ravens in that Superbowl...In fact 9ers called FOUR pass plays inside 1 or 2 yard line. This cant be the worst.

no. niners never got that close, they got to the 5 yard line after running the ball on 1st down.

Stupid Wilson choked that one away after Kearse saved his butt. One yard line and you dont let your best player win it for you???

Yeah lame just lame. You have a friggin bull at running back and you go for a pass on the 1 yard line? Maybe I should apply for OC because apparently anyone can be an OC these days...

Maybe it was bad, but all he had to do was not throw the interception. With 1 timeout and the amount of time left, they probably could only had 1 run left. I'm sure they thought they would try to trick them on 2nd down and if it didn't work, no problem, run it in on 3rd.

The question is did Wilson have to listen to the coach or coordinator? He shouldve just thought on his own to hand to Beast mode

Well then Wilson was dumb for throwing in such tight coverage. I cant believe he did that after how great he has played overall in clutch situations

2nd down at the 1 yard line WITH a timeout. So if he runs and doesn't make it, you call the time out with 20-30 seconds left. Then you still have two more downs and one more run. Doesn't make sense to try a pass then leave Marshawn Lynch with only one run opportunity. Passing always leaves you more vulnerable for a pick than running and possibly get a fumble.

i thought it was weird calling that play with thebeastmode guy and 2 timeouts, but hey, carroll has to live with it now.

You're going to pass on either 2nd or 3rd down because you don't want to run 4th down out of the hurry up if it comes down to that.

I'm pretty sure they only had 1 timeout.
