Foles for Bradford

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Wed Mar 11, 2015 3:37 pm

The Rams with Foles are going to make that division even tougher, but perhaps SF keeps regressing to even that out.

If Bradford can stay healthy he can be a stud in that Chip Kelly system.

I don't see anything special in Foles. He'll suck in St. Louis without the talent around him or coaching that he had in Philly.

The problem is that we run more plays than any other team which increases the odds that he will get hurt on the Eagles. I actually like him as a player when healthy, but I have no reason to believe he can stay healthy. If this was on the table already, it explains the Sanchez deal a bit. God help me if we have another year with Butt Fumble at the helm.

That's a high risk move. I like Bradford but even when healthy he's a highly conservative QB making top dollar. Not sure how much Foles' season before this was a pattern or an anomaly but losing both him and McCoy in one week is a pretty ballsy move.

Good thing the Eagles brought Sanchez back, he'll be playing a lot if they actually keep Bradford. Dude has suffered season-ending injuries in four of the last six years.

I like Foles to the Rams, kinda. He can run that offense and they finally have some decent weapons.

I've heard a couple people who think Bradford is the better QB, although Foles obviously has had a better career statistically.
There must be some reason Kelly doesn't think Foles is as good as his 2013 numbers indicate.

It's pretty crazy if the Eagles sign DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews. What do you think of that? They didn't even seem to want to run it all that much at times.

Bradford is more talented, Foles has had the better career thus far, but he's done so while playing in Chip's system. Foles against the NFC West last season wasn't very good, so Rams fan would want to hope that isn't a precursor for things to come. He hasn't played a season without getting hurt either.

I personally don't believe Bradford will be our QB come week one anyway.

Who do you think will be? Is he guaranteed any money or can they cut him? Was it a cost saving move?

I don't know why they'd give up picks for Bradford and pay his big salary if he's not going to be their starter. He almost has to be the starter.

Heres what happened. They gave up Shady McCoy. For Demarco Murray, Kiko Alonzo, cap space. Brilliant! They've got 2 serviceable runningbacks for an offensive scheme that needs several runnigbacks with the breakneck speed they run their offense. And they got 2 quality QBs on the cheap. And you all know how I feel about THE SANCHIZE! Its a victory! I personally would take the money and add 2 things. Wide receiver/Pass rusher.

The thing is, in Chip's system you don't want to be substituting players. If the offense substitutes, the defense is allowed to substitute, which slows down the tempo. Also just about everyone on the Eagles now seems to be injury prone. Chip must really trust the sports science people he's got...

Now reports that the Browns offered a first rounder for Bradford. I like Bradford, watched him since his rookie season on the Rams and even I cannot understand why everyone is losing their **** and betting their farm on him at this stage of his career. Makes you think how weak the free agency QB market is right now and Favre might yet get a well paid job if he flips towards another comeback.

The Eagles are going to be fine, but they do need a receiver badly.

Well the Browns aren't exactly smart when it comes to QBs. I doubt any other team would offer a 1st for Bradford. If I'm Philly I would have pulled that trigger but I think Chip is intrigued by Bradford's raw talent and he should be well protected by that stone wall of an OL. Now he just needs some receivers...
