Tom goin to court?
Tom Brady and the NFL Players Association plan to challenge the NFL in federal court if the New England Patriots quarterback receives a suspension of any length once Commissioner Roger Goodell decides on Brady’s appeal, a person familiar with the situation said. ABC News first reported Brady’s plan.

yeah dude is just desperate now. not sure if his handlers are this dumb or if he is not listening to them, this would've been all over with slap on the wrist if he owned up to it months ago.

I guess now we will find out ALL THE DIRTY DEATAILS. Now that it appears it may go to court, the rules of the game will now change. All those text messages, etc., will now be turned over in discovery. Can't wait to see how much Bellicheat, Kraft and others knew. And all those guys that got fired for taking one for the team, well that should get interesting when they take the stand. Oh, and Tommy Boy, the NSA already knows all your texts and phone messages. You sure you want us all knowing everything? I guess taking one for the team like the ball boys and equipment mangers did for you is not your style. Protect your image at al cost. Let the dominos fall on Bellicheat, Kraft and the NFL. Tommy boy, your reputation is already tarnished. All you can do now is make it worse for you and many others now.

To be fair as well, if Brady is willing to go to a legit courtroom then he's also ready to put everything on the table and prove what happened one way or the other.
I think if you want to attack him for circumventing the system and basically saying I didn't cheat, but I'm not going to provide the proof, then that's fine. However if he is ready to go into a courtroom with much higher degree of scrutiny and put his reputation on the line, he's either got balls of steel/ignorance/stupidity or he's potentially telling the truth.
Either way if he's willing to take it to court, you've got to give him some credit either for his massive balls flying in the face of the NFL and daring them to prove him a cheat, or for standing by his guns and refusing to be branded as a cheater when he isn't.
And this is coming from someone who can't get past the point that I can't imagine any team's locker room personnel changing the game balls without the consent/knowledge of the QB. Basically I either see it as Brady knew/knows and is saying prove it, or he's actually innocent and is getting screwed (leaning towards the former rather than the latter).

Re: Tom goin to court?
latter seems very unlikely, i cant think of any incentive why nfl would set up one of the most marketable players in the league and jeopardize integrity of the league. especially considering how goodell and kraft are best buds by all reports.
my guess is brady is trying to find a legal loophole and/or expects legal jurisdictions wont give a damn and come hard after something so insignificant to society, this way him and his fanboys have something to fall back on. sucks something so stupid probably going to cost taxpayers thousands.

Well, literally all objective evidence supported the Pats' innocence the entire time. So it seems to me that if Brady is willing to go to court, he knows that there's a really good chance he'll win, because he's actually innocent.

I suppose the tin foil hat answer to that would be along the lines of anything getting people talking or arguing about the NFL is still good for the league. Considering that this got more chatter than the opening of the baseball season and nearly as much as the NBA postseason, you could see a conspiracy theorist throwing that out there.

Re: Tom goin to court?
Has anyone found any definite proof of Brady cheating yet? I mean if we're going to throw a man's reputation down the drain... then maybe Aaron Rodgers is also a cheat since he prefers his footballs on the "overinflated" side.
The NFL is purposely dragging this out because they know that if this goes to court there's a very good chance they'll lose again.
If you believe the rumours, notice how not a single rumour comes out after the appeal by Brady yet when it looks like the tide has turned we get these "new" rumours out? Read between the lines, and you can see that the NFL propaganda machine is purposely "leaking" these tidbits in a desparate attempt to win the court of public opinion even when numerous professionals have denounced the science of the Wells report, and not a bit of evidence has implicated Brady.
I mean, the Wells report doesn't even have anything factually to pin it on the ball boys. And think about this for a second. If I was really looking to "cheat", I'd do so against a tougher opponent that's for sure. The Pats have OWNED the Colts all year. You see how the Pats used the Edelman to Amendola trick play in the second half? I'm willing to bet they didn't want to use that so soon in the playoffs but that's credit to the Ravens for being a tough out. The Colts? They were the easiest match up, even easier than Denver.
This entire witch hunt is nothing more than hatergate.

The Jimmy Johnson Cowboys were notorious for stealing signals. "Spygate" has nothing on that, and yet the Patriots get labelled as cheaters? Jerry Rice illegally admitted to using stick 'em which is against the rules and CLEARLY cheating. Do we count the Niners' SB rings as tainted then?
People are just jealous that the Patriots (along with Spurs') are both bench marks in their respective sport for player and team development. It's actually a black mark on how far society has fallen when a team that emphasizes team values more than any other NFL team are being branded cheaters? If you can't beat them, then the only way around that is to cry wolf in a smear campaign.
This is the very definition of defamation.

Even if there was video of Tom Brady pointing and talking to a ball boy as the kid is deflating a football then giving him a big smile and thumbs up, this isn't any more of a competitive advantage than piping in crowd noise. Where is all the outrage over the Falcons' cheating? Or what was the deal with the Browns and texting? Why isn't that still being shoved down our throat? I'm a fan of the only team in the NFL that postseason that could have potentially actually been affected by this and I don't give a crap about it. We lost because our secondary was trash and Joe Flacco foolishly hit Owen Daniels in the hands with what should have been a TD pass, not because of underinflated balls. Who the hell is such a whining crybaby that they would actually step up in public and admit that that is why they lost a football game? And this only assumes that there was actual wrongdoing which they are having a hard enough time even proving that.

AHAHA, Tom, why... WHY TOM? Why must you send your minions to do your dirty work! Why Tom? Why must you punish 2 minimum wage kids from Southie, by sending them to court? 2 southie kids when they talk in general about others, they use the term "YOUS". Or when you throw them the football and tell those 2 idiots to do a 10 yard route, they ask "ONLY 10 YAAAAAADS TOMMY BOY?" or "WHY THATS AAWWEESOME WIICCKED TOOOMEEY" Please Tom! Please speak for yourself and end this fiasco by admitting your guilt and then we can move on with the NFL season of 2016.

You must be talking about other people and posters. I'm not jealous at all, and really don't give a crap one way or another what happens to Brady and anything in the AFC. Since our trophy case STILL looks better than yours, your preaching to the wrong choir. It didn't take us 42 years to get our crap together to finally win a championship and we never played in the weakest division in football for over a decade either.
I've seen just about every game Dallas has played since 1970. I can honestly say we have had our share of some bad apples and off field issues, but I really don't ever recall us EVER being accused of cheating. Especially when we have been on the short end of bad luck calls. Despite our rich tradition and past success, we have been robbed of our share big games and could easily have another trophy or 2.

"Hi, I don't root for cheaters, they're bad" says the guy with the Cardinals and UNC logos. And Red would routinely push it in the same manner as Belichick, so the C's are cheaters too. Must be nice playing whichever side of the aisle suits you.
It going to court has been the obvious outcome since the 4gm suspension and to paint it as anything but is lying

I just can't believe this is still a story. I mean he allegedly deflated footballs. We talkin about deflated footballs. And it was like, a half a year ago. I don't think I've ever seen a bigger blow up of a nothing story.

The thread is about Tom and going to court. Not the Cardinals and Tar Heels. Stick to the thread. I believe we call that trolling or off topic. You want my opinion on the Cardinal or Tar Heel situation, start a thread regarding that in the appropriate place. And unlike you, I can admit when my team has done wrong. This year I will not watch or support my Tar Heels based on the current evidence despite what the official decision is in the end. Frankly, I'm sickened by the whole situation and believed UNC was better than that.
