NOT TOM CHEATING,
BUT WHO MADE THE CALL IN THE SUPERBOWL!
Offensive Coordinator Bevell for the Seahawks. Lynch wont say, but if there is 1 person he would tell the truth to, is his mom!!
And now his mom is outing the OC...ahahaha
"He is the worst play-caller ever the only reason he called that dumb azz play yesterday is to be able to justify the 1 yard that wasn't called in the superbowl "

I'm not entirely sure what this post is trying to say. We knew Bevell made the call back then. And then on 4th and 1 on Sunday, they gave the ball to Marshawn and it didn't work.
And she is claiming that they wanted Marshawn to fail yesterday to justify failing in the Super Bowl? It's tin foil hat time!

The offensive coordinator made the call? Who could've guessed that.

This is common knowledge. It's been explained why that call was made.

OC calls a pass and it's incomplete.
"OMG WHY DIDNT HE RUN IT ITS SO ****ING OBVIOUS, WE HAVE THE WORST OC IN THE LEAGUE!"

OC calls a run and is stuffed at the line.
"OMG WHY DIDNT HE PASS WOW WTF!?!!?"
-fans
Every team in the league has the worst OC according to their fanbases. This is what happens when you grade a play 100% based on its results.

In most cases yeah, but come on... 1 yard line, you have Lynch. OC was just feelin himself too much.

Bevel gets a ton of blame by Hawks fans. After every loss, there are calls for his head. Some of it is just, some flat out isn't. The Superbowl just magnified everything. Became an easy scapegoat for fans.

If your team doesn't have Bill Musgrave as the OC, then your OC could be worse.

So the obvious intelligent football move would be to fire an OC that has gotten your team to run an efficient, effective offense which has won a SB and made it to another and to hire Marshawn Lynch's idiot mother who doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut in matters that are none of her business. I'd like to see Bevell get on social media and challenge her to draw up a blocking scheme.

Yep. This is why I always laugh when people blame playcalling. Yet when a play works the OC/HC never gets credit.
Bevell is a good OC. He hasn't had much to work with offensively in Seattle besides Lynch as Wilson is very limited as a passer.

The team philosophy is to ground & pound teams. Have a great defense & wear out teams with a great rushing attack. Therefore, they haven't greatly invested in the offense (o-line/playmakers). This is Pete's philosophy & yes, one that has been very successful. So, naturally fans put the blame towards the OC when the offense falters and or results in a loss. Fans want a more "innovative" offense, but the facts are the team is built one way (run first, pass later). Russell is very capable of throwing the ball 40x a game & putting up big numbers. But, this hasn't always resulted in wins. Which we saw on Sunday. Simply, run the ball, control the time of possession, and win with your defense.

There were reasons why it made sense to pass, but whatever.

And there are reasons to bluff with 2-7 offsuit.. but if it blows up in your face, you better be ready to look like a fool and take the criticism that comes along with not making the generally accepted call. With 26 seconds on 2nd down, the reasons to give it to arguably the best short-yardage RB in the league trump those of passing to a fringe roster player.
But I'll readily admit that I'm even more sour on Bevell because of his comments after the game.

It's 2nd down, you can either run on 2nd or 3rd down, but there's not time to run on both and get a 4th down play. And if you throw on 2nd you can choose whether run or throw 3rd. The only way it matters is if you throw an interception, which probably wasn't a whole lot more likely than Lynch fumbling the ball.

But also a whole lot less likely to get the score they needed. Don't think its a stretch to say that running Marshawn twice trying to get 1 yard is a better option than anything else. You give the ball to your star there. So if people are actually defending Bevell for making the call, I'd say the outrage, satire, and overall *wtf* by pretty much all football fans not in Boston is a good enough response. He blew that one call. It doesn't make him a terrible OC, but he blew it on the biggest stage.

You can throw the ball on 2nd down and still run the ball twice.
Your best chance means giving yourself the opportunity for 3 shots, and that means throwing the ball on 2nd or third down.

I believe the success rate I heard in those situations for Lynch was 53% for the season. Russell Wilson's completion percentage for 2014 was 63%. There are obviously a bazillion other variables, but given these base percentages, one would surmise that you have a ten percent better chance of scoring on a pass play than a run. The only reason it was a dumb call was because it didn't work. Nobody gets outraged over dumb calls that end up working anyway.

As Wormguts and others have said: for almost anything else than what actually happened, you'd still get the chance to run Lynch again on 3rd and 4th down. The 2nd down pass play should have been a free play. The only two ways it hurts you are 1.) the turnover, or 2.) a completion that fails to score or stop the clock (i.e. Lockette catches the ball but gets leveled by Butler before breaking the plane).
The problem wasn't that they called a pass in general. The problem is that the
specific pass play they called was very poorly suited for the situation. If they had just gone for the standard, safe, back of the endzone, either-a-TD-or-an-incompletion type play, then it's a free play. You take your shot, then buckle down and run Lynch twice. Two Lynch runs and a safe back of the endzone pass have better odds cumulatively than just two Lynch runs.

They should have run, pass, whatever. No need to keep trying to debate it over. As a fan, at times, I've tried to completely block it out. As have a lot of Hawks fans. I've accepted it. But, it doesn't help when it keeps being brought back up.
