Just want to check with you before I make my list, is this ranking in terms of how we expect them to play this season?

I think you have the top 2 and then a group of about 10 who could fall in any order at any time depending on how good of line they had, receiving corp, etc. I think without a good line, guys like Ben, Newton, Wilson and Luck become more valuable but with a ton of time in the pocket guys like Rivers, Palmer and Ryan become more valuable.

And I'm a little unsure how high a guy like Andy Dalton should rank. I mean the guy had the second highest qb rating last year and has taken what was a perennially bad team before his arrival to the playoffs pretty much every year. Now he has struggled in the playoffs, but I think typically he just simply loses to a better team.

I think Luck is as good as Brees. Romo would be 5 for me.

last year was last year.

Cam and Dalton might get a few stats that put them a little higher but they wont be talked about as much and their teams wont be winning as much so thats why the lower rankings.
Brady is missing a month. No matter how many stats he gets he wont be top 3.

after the top 10,it really doesnt matter where the rest are placed.
They could all be tied for 11th for all I care.
Cam might get more stats than Taylor but it wont matter as Taylor will be in the playoffs and Cam wont

I agree minus Luck. Which is why I rate Russ, Big Ben, Cam fairly high. Russ could be top 5 this season.

I'll give Luck the benefit of the doubt for last year. Going into the year, after the previous year, he was a top 2 qb. If he has another bad year I'll take him out of that group.

Eli threw for 35 TDs and 4400 something yards last year.
he'll be just as good this year.
Ryan will have a better year than Cam this year.
last year the Panthers were 15-1, two years ago they were 7-8-1.
What makes you think this year will be like last year?

I don't think it will. Carolina won't repeat that. But, Cam took a big jump. Ryan has taken a step back the last couple of years. Solid. But, he's somewhat leveled off in his play. Does Cam take a big step back?

Will Carolina go go 15-1 again this year? Not likely. Will they be a very good team again? They have absolutely no reason not to be. They have their ENTIRE coaching staff returning, I mean literally not one coordinator or position coach left, which is a miracle after last season. Cam Newton is only 27 years old, he's just entering his prime. Jonathan Stewart and Greg Olsen will be back, as well as their entire receiving corps PLUS their #1 receiver, a 6'5 guy who had over 1000 receiving yards his rookie season, Kelvin Benjamin. The OL and DL are virtually the same, plus the addition of Vernon Butler, the LB corps is virtually the same. The secondary is literally the only place which takes a hit from last season, with the loss of Josh Norman, but you can't tell me that takes them from 15-1 to missing the playoffs.

Did you watch a single Carolina Panthers game last season, aside from the Super Bowl? Watching only the Super Bowl, I can understand how someone could look at them and say "okay, this season was just a fluke, these are their true colors". If you watched all 19 games they played last season like I did, trying to be as absolutely fair and objective as I can, that was a damn good team and it's clear that the Super Bowl was the fluke.

Russ #5 :D

It's amazing how the outlook on him has quickly changed. The talk of a "game manager".

Luck ahead of Romo? Interesting...

I'm a HUGE fan of Russ, he's probably my third favorite NFL QB after Cam and Brees. And I think that he's going to have a monster year. If healthy, that team is going to be very very difficult to stop. It's amazing how after one "down" year (where they still make the divisional round of the playoffs) everyone forgets his back-to-back SB years :nonono:

Luck is the biggest wild card for me this year, and could be the one that I'm the most wrong about. Last year I was big on him as well and he looked like garbage. But man, it's pretty hard to overlook 2014. I saw that you had him at 15, and that's probably a fair spot as well, I'm taking a little bit of a gamble putting him this high.
