Trading down with a good pick

Philadelphia is so bad at quarterback that I could see them being the worst team in football, but as a Browns fan I'm still not optimistic about passing on Bosa and Ramsey. If Dallas liked Wentz I'd be very happy trading down to 4. Possibly Jacksonville too, but the offer has to be very good. How often does it work out for teams?

I think it works out well if you can get a ton of picks in return. I can't recall who, but it seems like in recent years a team or teams have paid a pretty hefty package to move up to 2.

I would almost always trade down. I don't believe in the idea of reaching for guys that aren't QBs and even if it is a QB, you need to show restraint. I'm sure I went on my tangent somewhere on this board about how dumb I thought Atlanta was for trading picks away to move up for Julio Jones. For a drop from first overall to fourth plus another pick or two, I'd take that first round pick, wrap a bow around it and send it away in a stretch limo.
