New England and Denver should be a facinating game. Denver at home fighting for its playoff lives. Gaiants and Lions is another great match up as well. Will be interesting to see how Prescott and the Cowboys rebound after last week. Seattle should rebound just fine with the current mess the Rams are in. The Vikings and Colts should be a good game for sure with both teams fighting for their playoff lives.

I see NE losing to Denver. Denver is a tough matchup for them even when NE is at full strength, and they're anything but right now. On top of that, Denver is on the verge of missing the playoffs right now, so they have a much stronger incentive to win than NE, who have already pretty much locked up the division.

Denver had plenty of reasons to win last week as well, but their offense fell flat. It's hard to imagine them pulling out a W without any semblance of a running game.

Texas High School Football Championships start today. Which means I won't have to watch that "game" tonight.

Go Gunter Tigers!!! They won the 3A district my grandson plays in. He, his team and most of the other district towns teams are heading to the Death Star for the game tonight. My wife and I are still debating going.

was hoping allen would get back there this year but they haven't had a dynamic playmaker since Kyler Murray left. i say that, and yet they've lost 2 games the last 4 years

Yeah... played 14-15 each of the last two years too. Crummy team that one. 8-)

An old Fan Nation (Sports Illustrated forum where I came from) poster is a teacher at DeSoto in Dallas. They had to beat Cedar Park to reach the finals tomorrow night. I know you're familiar with them. A whole bunch of fresh blood in the 5A and 6A finals this year.

That's cool. My dad went to Sweetwater HS and they're playing there today for their state title. I think they're heavy underdogs, though.

W. Orange Stark leading 7-6 at halftime. One of those powerhouse schools.

High school football in Texas is a thing? I kid. But, I guess I don't really see the appeal of it. Actually my school is a football powerhouse in the state of Washington. But, it's not nearly the craze that it is down your way.

Let me help. West Orange Stark won 24-6. Among their alumni - Earl Thomas.

When I was in the Air Force, we took some guys from up north to see Class 4A Abilene Cooper play Class 3A Brownwood (one of the legendary schools with one of the legendary High School coaches ever in Gordon Wood). There were over 20,000 at this game. Kid named Terry Orr for Abilene Cooper was a man among boys that day. He went on to play for UT and the Redskins. His son Zachary Orr plays for the Ravens. And yeah - my buddies were blown away over 20,000 at a high school football game... until Highland Park and Plano drew over 50,000 to a playoff game later that year.

The school @studcrackers spoke about - Allen - plays in a stadium that cost over $70 million to build. And before anyone talks about how stupid it is to pay that much to build a high school stadium, just know that the vote to build it passed with over 90% voting yes. Town just north of Allen (McKinney) just passed a referendum to build one for over $60 million. Vote wasn't close.

So yeah. It's different down here.

And - more proof. This is a USA Today article from 2014 comparing Texas HS playoffs to bowl games.

:o

Here, there's no way that would fly. Especially in a city like Seattle. The anti-sports/liberal crowd here would throw a fit. They still can't pass plans for a new arena (NBA/NHL). Seattle is the worst in regards to actually getting anything approved. Traffic is a nightmare. . Not quite L.A. level, but not far behind either.
