Never had to join the Cowboys bandwagon. Been a Cowboy fan since 1970 and have stayed with them for 46 years.

Here's the application. Let's see how many of those faces you can identify.

Nah, I'm good. As much as I like to give Otis and BJJ crap sometimes, I'm really not a Cowboys hater. BUT, I've never liked them either, and I'm one of the most anti-bandwagon people on this planet.

I believe their offensive line will have to be paid soon. It may not last that long. Good luck this year though.

Dallas has a 2-3 year window due to the cap (if they stay healthy). They already have alot of money tied to the line. Very little cap space. When they give extensions to Dak & Zeke, they will lose guys to FA. It happens to every team. Can't pay everyone.

Two of them (Smith & Frederick) already are. Martin is right around the corner.

The bigger issue is 2017 where they are currently $5M over. But - If Romo does leave before next season, his contract comes off the books for 2018. So does Witten's. Even signing Zach Martin to a longer deal will leave them around $30M under the cap going into 2018. Another good draft (especially on defense) that gives them a cheap cap-friendly roster...

They will be fine when it's time to extend Dak and Zeke.

It's going to be hard enough paying Frederick, Martin and Smith. Then, I'm sure Collins and/or Leary will want to be paid as well. One of those guys might need to replace Free to keep the books in order. Paying an offensive line that much means that your defense is going to lack sufficient funding for major upgrades.

Puts a premium on drafting well. Not everybody can get paid. And as we learned with the Seahawks, you can't shortchange the offensive line. The Cowboys will be out of salary cap hell after the 2017 season. At that point, they can do what good organizations do.

As far as Leary and Free go, they probably will. It's a young man's game.

Assuming Dak has another good year they'll be preparing to pay him big money two seasons later. If you're signing free agents you won't want to give them long contracts. For many good free agents this may be a problem.

Once again... gotta draft well and correctly decide who you keep and who you replace. Makes it a whole lot easier when you have your QB. The Patriots are the template. Love them or hate them - you must respect them. And if (as most Cowboys fans including this one feel) you think you have your QB for the next 10/15 years, you keep him healthy and look for FA's to complement him. But - you gotta draft well.
