Branden Albert unretires, Jags "unlikely" to let him come back
Sorry but this tickles me. He sits out, demanding more money. Doesnt get it, so he shows up to practice with his tail between his legs.. gets beat up by the younger lineman for a few days, then quits. Finds out it will cost him 3.4mil to quit, so he un-quits.
And now the Jags are telling him to kick rocks.

And Tom Coughlin won't put up with his shananigans either.

Albert has been a complete train wreck from the start.

Makes you wonder how much the Dolphins know about his "idiosyncrasies" doesn't it...

Quite possibly, but I bet the Jags were just as happy to let Julius Thomas go.. in terms of the trade, I think the Jags win it now with Albert "retiring"
Jags in: 3.5m in cash, 7th rd pick swap with Miami
Fins in: Julius Thomas, 7th rd pick swap with Jags
Plus it lets Cam Robinson start straight away, and I think that will be good for him. Not necessarily for Bortles, but I dont think there's anything worth salvaging there. I could see someone like Hoyer, Tyrod, Alex Smith, AJ McCarron, Bridgewater, or Glennon next year in JAX anyways while they draft their QBotF

I think you nailed it. Albert essentially freed up 9M dollars in cap room which they can used to extend Allen Robinson and/or Telvin Smith. If Bortles stinks it up, I can absolutely see the Jags going after Cousins, McCarron, or the other guys you listed above. Jax has enough talent outside of QB to be very competitive, which is what makes being a Jags fan frustrating.

Albert's been cut.. not sure if he's paying the 3.4m back in this case, but a small part of me really hopes he does. Not because Khan needs it, but because F U Albert.
