Bills send Watkins to Rams, acquire Matthews

The Buffalo Bills have traded wide receiver Sammy Watkins and a 2018 sixth round pick to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for cornerback E.J. Gaines and a 2018 sescond round pick.
The Bills then acquired WR Jordan Matthews and a 2018 third round pick from the Philadelphia Eagles for CB Ronald Darby.

Out of nowhere! It seems Bills don't have any trust in Watkins' health...
Watch out for the Rams this year.

Side note: Bills, IMO, lost value in both trades, especially the Eagles trade, which is a huge coup for the Eagles. Darby is on his rookie contract for 2 more seasons and is still pretty good. Matthews was fighting to be the WR3 in Philly. Yes, the 3rd round pick helps a lot, but it seems like Buffalo is more interested in their future than their present, to which LeSean McCoy and Tyrod Taylor have to be a little pissed.
Meanwhile I think the Eagles are a sleeper to take a MASSIVE step forward this year, and I think the Rams are creeping closer to respectability (that line is still bad though, so I dont see them contending for a playoff spot). Eagles absolutely could though.

I don't see much value here with the returns for the Bills in the short-term anyways.
For the Eagles, Darby already has become the best corner on the roster and it cost them wide receiver who was inconstant to begin with, especially with those damn drops! Well worth adding a 3rd to improve the secondary in a big way.,
Eagles could very well be a sleeper team indeed.

Yeah, the Eagles have a rookie WR in Mack Hollins (played at UNC with Trubisky) who plays similarly to Matthews, totally in favor of this move.
Nothing against Matthews personally, he was just an average receiver.
His best skill is route running and he should really play out of the slot. As was stated, he drops a lot of passes too.

Don't worry. Rams going no where. 49ers are the team to watch in that division this season.

I'm not getting my hopes too high about the Rams, but if Goff plays like a league average QB and the offensive line plays decently, the Rams will win some games this year. Neither of those are locks, obviously.
But we're far ahead of the 49ers in almost every conceivable way.

I really like the direction the 49ers are heading and I believe they will do better than most of us think.

The rams have decent defense and maybe a good qb 49ers are a ways way.
