I'm not going to try and pretend I have any enthusiasm in tonight's game. For that matter... other than Rams/Cowboys, Raiders/Broncos and Redskins/Chiefs, there isn't a lot to be jazzed about this week.

All time record between the Packers and Bears is: 94-94-6. Packers haven't led the series since 1932.

That's stunning.

Guess I’m not the only one who didn’t give a damn about this game. I’m watching UT/ISU and monitoring the CHI/GB game via Twitter.

Super exciting action packed weather delay.

Forgot about the UT game, thanks for reminding me. Was watching the Astros destroy Boston and PBS.

That hit reminded me of Ricardo Lockette. He retired instead of trying to play another down after that injury.

Absolutely disgusting by Trevathan. I never wish harm on players, but he's toeing that line really, really closely.

For the mouthpiece to fly like that, his neck had to swing back pretty fast. If he escapes with his jaw intact and no damage to the neck area, thats a huge win. A concussion is a given. I'd imagine a severe one, and I'm not sure Adams plays again this year. That was just awful, and Trevathan should be suspended for multiple games.

One of the worst hits I've seen. Not sure how anyone can defend it. Absolute disgrace he wasn't ejected.

Wow. If that isn’t at least a 6 game suspension then I don’t know is.

Well?

NFL should use its new rule to suspend Danny Trevathan
http://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/250591/nfl-should-use-its-new-rule-to-suspend-danny-trevathan

During the offseason, the NFL competition committee announced that certain illegal hits, previously punishable by a 15-yard penalty, would be subject to immediate ejection and/or suspension on first offense. At the time, NFL executive vice president Troy Vincent said the league wants to eliminate hits that he termed "catastrophic" by employing the maximum level of deterrence.

It's hard to find a better word to describe what Trevathan did in the third quarter Thursday night. Multiple Bears defenders had Adams wrapped up inside the red zone when Trevathan lowered his head and hit the front of Adams' face hard enough to send his mouthpiece flying. It was both an illegal hit and an exceptionally dirty one, considering Adams was no longer making forward progress.

Referee John Hussey issued a 15-yard penalty for what he called a "hit to the head." More specifically, he probably meant an illegal hit with the crown of the helmet. Regardless, Hussey should receive strong NFL scrutiny for his failure to eject Trevathan on the spot.

Thursday's dark episode is precisely what the NFL was trying to address with its offseason initiative. I would be stunned if Trevathan is eligible to play in the Bears' next game, scheduled for Oct. 9 against the Minnesota Vikings.

It wasn't a banner game for the officials. They missed a few calls in favor of GB. The fact that Trevathan wasn't immediately ejected was a joke, and the no-call on roughing (running into?) the punter because the ball was tipped when the ball was further from the nearest Bear than a Mike Glennon pass was bad.

There was also that intentional grounding no-call on Rodgers, but I like to think that's because Aaron didn't have any tackles to be between in the first place. Just four guards.
