Both teams were riding high at the start of the season and both teams were fun to watch, but both have slipped alot.
Which team has been the most disappointing as the season starts to wind down?

5-0 -> 6-5 is probably more disappointing than 3-0 -> 7-4. And the Falcons are playing better now than they were to start the season. Unfortunately we gave away a couple of games early and our remaining schedule is brutal. 10-6 would be an accomplishment.

Chiefs at this point. They look like a shell of themselves. The Falcons are still playing well.

To me the Falcons are more disappointing. They made the Super Bowl last year, I thought they'd be better.

Falcons are 7-4 and trending upwards. It's definitely KC for me, especially after their 5-0 start and how they demolished the Patriots on opening night. They've gone from SB favorites and Alex Smith being an MVP frontrunner to barely holding onto the lead in arguably the weakest division in football and possibly not even making the playoffs.

One thing for certain... if the Chiefs yak up this season there is no way Andy Reid can go into next season with Alex Smith as his starter.
No. Way.

I think if the Chiefs wind up tied for 1st in the AFCW at any time this year, Mahomes comes in.
Either way, after his fall from grace, Alex Smith is very unlikely to be a Chief next year. He should settle into the life of being a high-priced backup, because that's what I see in his future. Find a team with a good defense that needs a game manager backup (BAL? MIN? CAR? JAX?) and just be ready to jump in if necessary. Initiate Hasselbeck phase of his career.
