The Titans
They could have drafted Jared Goff at 1. Did they make a mistake?

No, they just drafted Mariota. Their career stats at this early point are nearly identical when it comes to completion % and QB rating. Goff has a little better TD/INT ratio over career but Mariota is a much better runner, averaging nearly 6 yards a carry and over 900 yards with 9 career rushing tds. Goff has 67 yards on less than 2 ypc and 2 tds on the ground.
I'd say they are fairly similar. Goff had the better career this year, and Mariota had a tough one but he's certainly not worth giving up on. Last year, in his second year, Mariota has 26/9 td/int similar to Goff's 28/7 this year, his second year and a 96 rating compared to Goff's 100 this year.

Re: The Titans
I think Mariota played hurt most of the year and his receivers have certainly done him few favors, Decker had several huge drops last week. Corey Davis missed the majority of the year, Taywan Taylor looked nice in limited action. I believe the biggest difference between the two at this point is coaching, though if Tennessee is going to stick with their "ground and pound" approach, it would be nice to see them take a speedy running back that fully compliments Henry's style.

I’m a pretty huge Chiefs fan this weekend. True story.

Yeh it's far too early to write off Mariota. I was really high on him coming into this season, but injuries got the worst of him. I think an offseason with this loaded group of receivers will do wonders for him heading into 2018-19.

#exoticsmashmouth was a huge bust.
Frankly, they should be part of the coaching carousel, but aren't for some reason. Next year I expect them to feed Derrick Henry (finally) and invest another high pick in a WR. With a 2nd year Davis, Matthews, D.Walker, and Jonnu Smith, I think the Titans find their way offensively next year.
I love Goff (see logo to the left) but I think its 50/50 on which is better. One is certainly in a better system.

I don't know about QB. But it seems like forever, they always say, the Titans have to get a top flyte receiver. Well they are still saying that today. Whenever, Titan receivers are mentioned, it seems that they always talk about a tight end. Great Titan tight ends. The part that gets me, whoever the heck is QB down there, they never invest into a #1 receiver.

You can't expect them to make that pick when they had Mariota.
