What did they trade? Alex Smith is a solid QB but he’s not as good as Cousins. I really think if Cousins was Smart he’d consider Cleveland. Also the Jags said they’re sticking with Bortles but if they were smart they’d look at signing Cousins. He’s light years better than Bortles. The Cardinals are another option for Cousins.

Question if you are New Orleans would you trade Brees if you knew you would get cousins?

Not only is Smith not as good, he’s going to be 34. He’ll be 38at the end of this contract.

If I were Buffalo or Denver, I’d have Kirk’s agent on speed dial. And yes - add him to the Cardinals and that offense gets better in a hurry... and Larry Fitzgerald has a QB.

I don't know if it's that bad of a decision. Let's suppose that you have zero chance to sign Cousins or Garoppolo. What is your next best option?

Buffalo, Denver or Arizona would probably be good spots for Cousins. Teams with a decent supporting cast that could win right now. Cleveland probably should probably draft somebody and sign a stop gap. New Orleans is going to stick with Brees

The bad decision was not signing Cousins two or three years ago when the market was different. They screwed themselves.

It’s not a bad trade for Washington, Alex Smith led the league in QB rating and is going to be 10+ million per year less than Cousins.

Supposedly, the Browns tried to get Smith themselves. Wonder what they were offering... and if the Chiefs were playing it against the Skins?

Minimal run game, average defense, and they trade for/pay the best game manager in the NFL

This is bananas

Browns need to empty the vault, get Cousins, draft Barkley 1st. All of a sudden their O is legit.

They paid him more than I expected which changes things but I’m not big fan of giving Cousins Matt Stafford money either.

I believe the proper term here is “Panic”...

They could have signed Kirk two years ago for a LOT less.

Well - Kirk is going to get Stafford money and more. The market for QB’s never goes down. Ever.

Which is why I don’t really mind Washington looking at other options. Kirk is a good but not great QB, he’s not getting you anywhere on his own.
