Well they extended Kam after he held out, so anything is possible. ET was my favorite Seahawk during the PC era. I'm pretty disappointed in him now, though I understand football players wanting to get their money in a brutal sport where franchises show very little loyalty to players in general.

Even with my dismay, I still have fond memories of him and the way he plays the game. I'd probably rank him as the second or third greatest Seahawk player in terms of how well he played his particular position in comparison to the rest of the players who played that same position in the league. Walter Jones would have to be at the top of the list, as he would be in the discussion amongst the greatest LT's who ever played the game. Off the top of my head, ET might be amongst the top 15 FS's to have played the game, and if not that, then not much far off.

Sad state of affairs. I'm assuming he'll be traded, but we'll see. It might only take a pre-season injury to a safety on an otherwise contending team to garner some decent compensation for him.

I'm not sure it's worth gloating over. It's pretty clear Dallas was unwilling to make a legit offer for him. Therefore....No deal .

Who's gloating? I'm glad for you. Now you can move on.

I'm about ready to move on. He's become too much of a headache. But, I still firmly believe he'll never suit up for your team. :P

On a more serious note. it sucks being in limbo. I thought the asking price was way too much and these are some of the types of moves Jerry has pulled in the past that set us back 3 to 5 years. We have a lot of players finally getting back on our defense with some nice additions. Even if we have to go through one more year of growing pains, I's rather continue to build through the draft and stay young.
Love to have Earl for a short, friendly deal for just one or maybe two years, but no more. But imho, I'd prefer to move from taking a chance on him. If I'm a Sea hawk fan, I'm a bit upset that he doesn't want to finish out a great career with a team he has played his whole career for unless it is under his terms. You would think with his age and his decline on the horizon, that he would want his contract to also be team friendly to an organization that has done so much for each other.

The Problem in Seattle is not Earl Thomas anyway. It's Pete Carroll.

It sucks but the team is ultimately doing the right thing by not extending him. Giving Chancellor an extension at the same age last offseason burned them badly. He wont play another down. But, will still count $9 million against the cap this year. And another $5 mil next year. You cant give guys approaching 30 that type of money. Earl knows his time could also be up soon. He's just trying to cash in now.

We've had quite a few of those situations since Jerry became General Manager of all back in 2002. It hurts and sucks.

Ever since Seattle gave the Super Bowl to the Patriots, he has lost the team and players. Nothing has been the same since then.

When they lost Marshawn everything changed. You can point to that game. But, the reality was that the window would have closed anyway shortly thereafter. Russ signed his new deal that off-season. They had a bunch of guys who's contracts were up. The offensive line was broken up that off-season as well. When Marshawn walked away (At the end of 2015). The window had closed.

I feel like Seattle is going to regret this decision.
