The benefits of having a QB still on his rookie contract. The Rams Super Bowl window is this year & next. 2020 is when they will have to start making some tough decisions due to the cap. Same goes for the Eagles (Wentz).

That's part of it.

But two years out, counting everyone except for Donald, the Rams still have over $100 million in cap space. So $80ish million factoring in Donald.

Even if Goff was not on a rookie deal, we're talking $60 million - although with several players needing to be signed, in that hypothetical the core of Goff/Gurley/Donald is taken care of with plenty of room to spare.

Les Snead might be the best GM in the NFL now.

Correct. But, your not factoring in other signings & players getting extensions, etc. Believe me, the window in the NFL is shorter than you think! Unless you have a Tom Brady & BB.

The Rams this off-season have pushed all their chips into the center of the pile. As they smartly should do. They have a golden opportunity to strike now & take advantage of their current cap situation.

Other teams will start to chip away at that team over time (each year). Successful teams tend to not only lose players, but also coaches & front office personnel. This Rams team as currently constructed is stacked. But, due to the cap, age & injuries, that will change.

P.S. I didn't realize that Cooks recently got $50m Guaranteed! :o

The two year window that was mentioned here for the Rams to win a Super Bowl will possibly be extended depending on what the cap increases too. It's clear that the NFL will need to do something before this becomes an issue. The league is probably very pleased with what the Rams are doing and the league will thrive on having it's popular Golden State team, if the Rams end up winning a couple of championships during the short-term.

I only use Golden State as an example, because they've only helped the NBA profit, sign new TV contracts, and the Rams will be the must see TV team.
