Turner Sports said it made a deal with the Alliance of American Football that will put one of the new league’s regular season games and one of its playoff games on TNT, with one weekly game streaming on Turner’s Bleacher Report Live streaming service.

The new league, started by TV producer Charlie Ebersol and NFL veterans including Bill Polian, is scheduled to start playing in February. It will face off against another new league, the XFL, being started by WWE’s Vince McMahon.

The Alliance of American Football previously made a deal with CBS. That deal puts the AAF’s opening day one CBS and one game each week on CBS Sports Network. CBS Sports Network will also carry one playoff game and CBS will broadcast the league’s championship game.

Financial terms of the deal with Turner was not disclosed.

TNT’s game will pit the Salt Lake Stallions against the Birmingham Iron on Feb. 16. That game will air at 2 p.m. ET, before Turner’s coverage of the NBA All-Star Saturday Night.

In addition to live game coverage, all Alliance games distributed through B/R Live will be available on demand, with highlight rights extending across B/R platforms.

“We’re looking forward to this exciting partnership with The Alliance – including working closely with its leadership team of Charlie Ebersol, Bill Polian, Hines Ward and Troy Polamalu – and share the enthusiasm and forward-thinking vision being applied to this newly-formed league,” said Lenny Daniels, president of Turner Sports. “This is a true partnership and The Alliance will have our full support in the distribution of its live game coverage and content across the Turner Sports portfolio.”

The Alliance of American Football League could become the NFL's de facto minor league.

They're trying to be that type of league as opposed to the XFL who's trying to be a complimentary professional spring league in big markets.

The quality of play is surprisingly good. Love the fast pace. Limited commercials.

Solid football. Wish the blitz rule went away, they had a 1PT conversion right at the goal line (2 points at the 5) or an extra point. No kickoffs is OK, onside rule is much better than regular one, faster paced games is great.

The NFL needs to adopt the 35 second playclock rule. It's great.

I've enjoyed this league so far. Been thinking of maybe going to the AAF Championship Game in Las Vegas. Probably gonna end up going to a Stallions game or 2 as well.

I like the league w wn if I haven't seen a full game I have enjoyed the highlights. It seems to be a success early on.

I am surprised how much I have liked these games and how bugged I was when SL choked against Birmingham.

Looks like with the exception on the Apollos, this first season will be very unpredictable.

I don't disagree. But it is also mind boggling that Ebersol and Polian had to find an investor like Dundon 2 weeks into the season. Think it was rushed because they wanted to try and beat the XFL to it. But come on it woulda been done week 2 without Dundon. Blows my mind.

They had an investor, Reggie Fowler who was a partner/former owner of the Minnesota Vikings who was supposed to put up 170 mil and backed out after Week 2 when Ebersol said they had a "pay glitch". ( ) Plenty of excuses and lies from Ebersol while his players have to pay for their hotels, fly home, etc.

I'd lay the blame at Ebersol 1a, Dundon 1b, Fowler 2nd.
