At what age do old people begin to blame everything on the newest generation? Is it 50+? Just curious.
The idea that sports players were never greedy before is just asinine.
My bad. It's just Brady is the exception & not the rule/norm.
Has anyone done this before in MLB/NHL or NBA?
I can't think of any off hand.
Tim Duncan?
They just don't come to mind because they didn't make a stink over how much they were making in public, didn't hold out. Plenty of players we just never hear about. Brady being the best QB in the league all these years (no reason to argue that point anymore) should set the price for the position. For some reason teams have allowed over the top greedy agents/players to squeeze them.
In the NBA LeBron, DWade, Bosh, Dirk, Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, KD, Kyrie.
In Australian Rugby, in NRL (what Valentine Holmes and Jarred Hayne are from) at one stage there was borderline a whole team with a culture of taking less than what they were worth.
Manly Warringah Sea Eagles - Had about 6 guys who were top 3 at their positions, then the rest of their starting lineup was basically all top 10 at least at their position.
They had half a decade of dominance, only challenged by another team, which the other team turned out to be over the salary cap by 3mil off memory (the salary cap was 2mil)
It all ended when the players started to age, so the club in hope to keep the good times going matched and upped one of the younger players on the teams contract offers from another team, he is now paid 1.5mil (the salary cap since raised to 2.5-3mil), so basically NFL equivalent is 70mil...
After your first, you change, you mature, you dont just jump into things.
After getting dunked on for the first time, life becomes complex.
