He thinks hes Russell Wilson, but hes really a homeless version of that. QB is absolutely the most important thing, but they will regret this contract even at 30 per.

But Skip Bayless says he's the most underrated QB & better than Wilson.

  :falloff:

What's so funny?

At what age do old people begin to blame everything on the newest generation? Is it 50+? Just curious.

The idea that sports players were never greedy before is just asinine.

My bad. It's just Brady is the exception & not the rule/norm.

Has anyone done this before in MLB/NHL or NBA?

I can't think of any off hand.

Yeah, $30 million a year is just not enough to expect a guy to be able to live a great life.

They just don't come to mind because they didn't make a stink over how much they were making in public, didn't hold out. Plenty of players we just never hear about. Brady being the best QB in the league all these years (no reason to argue that point anymore) should set the price for the position. For some reason teams have allowed over the top greedy agents/players to squeeze them.

This is when a jerk calls you a communist for not allowing individuals to rob, cheat, steal, demand and expect every dime they can earn for themselves no matter how much it skins the backs of those around them. Let's turn down 30 and demand 40. Why stop there? Demand the entire cap remaining after the other 52 players of the roster get their league minimum.

So 52 players at $682500 (median Min). That leaves 152.5 million for the top dog to take for himself. Why not? Go for it all if there is no care to what kind of team you'll have around you. Don't half ass the decision anyway. Stop pretending you care at all. You are the top dog and so "you deserve it all", right?

Better yet. Just keep killing the top dog until you are the top dog with top money. Then watch your back. It's a dog eat dog workd they say.

Well he’s put up some big numbers the first two games.

If Cowboys pay him $35 million or more will they be able to pay Cooper and other key players?

Seems like holding out on his deal and making him play for it is a mighty carrot for this one. Lot's of people patting the new young OC on the back during this, and yet I wonder how it looks after he gets his 35-40/yr. He's certainly proving he can play and lead better now. But the deals of that size will mean someone(s) will be leaving. They already paid Zeke so those two combined will tear this roster a part at least some. He's getting less than 5 right now, right? Jump 5 to 35 plus. How many players to cut to free up 30 million or more? They actually have something like 24 to work with. I wonder who they would have cut to save 6 if they had signed Dak to 30/yr. Cooper may want up to 18. He gone. That saves 13. Dak's gingerbread fantasy market value is 33. But dropping Coop brings available money for Dak to 46. He should demand it all.

They could maybe deal for Foles depending on how the Minshew project continues to unfold. Trade Dak for picks. He would net a lot of them. He is playing at an elite level so far.

Maybe but he’s playing behind an elite line, with an elite RB.

So far apparently been barely touched back there.

I think they needed to choose between Prescott and Elliott, and Elliott forced their hand a bit. But it's worth keeping Prescott this year to try to win the Superbowl. Then see what happens in FA.

Brady being the best QB in the league all these years (no reason to argue that point anymore) should set the price for the position. For some reason teams have allowed over the top greedy agents/players to squeeze them.

In the NBA LeBron, DWade, Bosh, Dirk, Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, KD, Kyrie.

In Australian Rugby, in NRL (what Valentine Holmes and Jarred Hayne are from) at one stage there was borderline a whole team with a culture of taking less than what they were worth.
Manly Warringah Sea Eagles - Had about 6 guys who were top 3 at their positions, then the rest of their starting lineup was basically all top 10 at least at their position.
They had half a decade of dominance, only challenged by another team, which the other team turned out to be over the salary cap by 3mil off memory (the salary cap was 2mil)
It all ended when the players started to age, so the club in hope to keep the good times going matched and upped one of the younger players on the teams contract offers from another team, he is now paid 1.5mil (the salary cap since raised to 2.5-3mil), so basically NFL equivalent is 70mil...
After your first, you change, you mature, you dont just jump into things.

After getting dunked on for the first time, life becomes complex.
