Pats have a pretty cake schedule...they are always well prepared in the playoffs but they have their own division (Bills are pretty good), but they play the AFC north, which is the weakest AFC divison outside of their own this year, and the NFC East...weakest division overall.
The AFC West for example plays the AFC South, and Houston and Indy are pretty good, the others ok...but the NFC North, easily the toughest NFC division. The West is fairly tough, but not as tough.
Pats will have to play KC and Houston I think though...or whoever won the AFC south last year...maybe it was Indy.
Some of the other playoff teams might come in far more battle tested.
Pats are always well prepared but they may not be invincible. I think the Saints if Brees comes back healthy or the Packers could give them a game, and possibly SF, Seattle and Minnesota. A tough D can likely do well against the Pats.

You guys still have Saints #2 after Sunday? We struggled offensively and have a really low point differential that could spell trouble. It'll be interesting to see what Carolina does when Newton is back healthy. Kyle Allen has been very good for them and they are winning.

I'm pretty sure people's rankings take into consideration Brees coming back. The fact that they are holding people to 10 points and under is not normal Saints defense. So if Brees gets their offense back up even close to where it has been the past few years, that sounds like a tough combination.
I didn't do rankings, but I think GB is a lot better than usual and is probably one of the toughest teams in the NFC. That probably means they will lose tonight...I seem to jinx teams. There are a number of pretty tough teams but no one seems unbeatable. I think the Vikings are tough..that whole division is pretty tough. Then you have the Seahawks and Niners...not sure how tough they are, but Niners looked tough yesterday. Seattle was outplayed but got the victory.
The Saints have been about as tough as anyone the last two years, but their defense seems improved. Not sure I'd bet against them when Brees comes back.
The AFC seems pretty wide open, at least after NE, however Buffalo showed they are not invincible either. But everyone in the AFC but those two teams have two or more losses already, so no one is really out of it unless they are winless. Everyone also has at least 2 wins except Cincy and Miami, so no one has more than a 2 game lead over anyone else in their division in the AFC outside of the east.

For niners I worry more about Baltimore and Seattle than New England or New Orleans, but NE is the best until proven otherwise.
Cowboys are as pretender of a team as they come. Wins over Giants, Redskins, Dolphins, Eagles, Lions dont impress me the slightest. If they played in any division aside from the weakest in the NFL, they wouldn't be close to a playoff team.

They we're soundly beaten by the Ravens. Therefore I can't put them above Baltimore atm. That defense has been carrying the offense all season. Both SF & Baltimore have proven to be better all-around teams. Despite NE's 10-1 record.

I mean I hear you, and part of me really wants to believe that. The other part of me knows that Belichick never puts his cards on the table in the regular season. I hope this is finally the year that they are human and can be beaten in the playoffs. But at 10-1 with a bye week on the horizon, I've got to give it to the pats until I see them lose in the playoffs.
49ers can be beaten as well. I get we were without our receivers against Seattle, but scrambling qbs have been a weak spot for us. That's why Seattle/Baltimore scare me more than Pats, Saints, or the Packers.
I think this year its going to be Baltimore vs New England and SF vs Seattle. Wouldn't be surprised by any combination coming out. Saints are that 5th team. Chiefs and Packers have too many holes for me to put them up there. I trust the Vikings more if Kirk Cousins can play halfway decent football.
