You can differ all you want but there is in fact no debate at this point. Jackson is #1 in TD passes (and by a wide margin, despite being #25 in pass attempts) and QBR while also being among the top 10 rushers in the league (leading all rushers in yards per carry at 6.7) and leading his team to a 12-2 record while defeating every one of his MVP rivals. It's ovah.

Lamar will win. But is he the most valuable player? This says otherwise.

The MVP goes to the best player on the best team. Not always the "Most Valuable".

This effort based on what he did in last years playoff loss will change the discussion. MVP is still up for grabs imho.

No. It's a Regular Season award unfornately. He got it. But it cost his team.

Playoffs are a different animal. Lets see who the real MVP will be going forward.

Lamar Jackson or Russell Wilson
With the outside chance of Micheal Thomas

Personally that’s my opinion.

31-59 for 365 yards with 1 TD and 2 interceptions.
sacked 4 times.
143 yards on 20 carries and 1 fumble.

Did Lamar have a great game? Obviously not. Did he do a lot of good things? Absolutely. Did he make some big mistakes? for sure. Was he let down by his receivers? Most definitely. SIX drops including a sure touchdown and a couple other 3rd down plays. Had those been catches the game could have been quite different.

To me the key thing is Mike Vrabel outcoached Jim Harbaugh by a wide margin. He had gameplanned for everything Baltimore was going to do and beat them at all of it.

Also, you can't underestimate the significance of Ingram being hurt and a non-factor. He was a key to their success all year and he couldn't offer anything.

I have no doubt that people are going to jump on Lamar and trash him up and down, because that is what people like to do these days, but for a 22 year old up against a really good defense he doesn't deserve it. Was he god's gift yesterday? nope. was he the reason they lost? in my opinion he was one of them, but only one. he was also the only reason they even had a chance. 143 yards running and 31 completions ain't peanuts.

people are going to draw all these conclusions based on one game from a 22 year old. but there is a lot more to come...

It felt like half of that was padding his stats in garbage time

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson named PFF's Most Valuable Player

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-seattle-seahawks-qb-russell-wilson-pffs-most-valuable-player

What we can say, though, is that based on everything PFF is currently able to quantify, Russell Wilson, and not Jackson, added the most value to his team and is, therefore, the league’s MVP. When you try and see the entire board, Wilson dealt with much more adversity than Jackson did and was significantly ahead in terms of PFF WAR.

Mahomes played fewer snaps & still had a significantly higher WAR than Jackson. The guy is a freak. :o

fwiw Here is the calculated WAR for each MVP "named" since 2006

I guess we see why RB's are devalued.

2017 Brady= the GOAT

Wilson had an incredible year. And almost pulled that off in Green Bay.

Lamar might be the MVP. But his accuracy is whack.

He's better suited for a role on Friday Night SmackDown. Maybe Vince can convince him to join his league.

Reason why I chose Wilson earlier in the year for MVP is because he reminds me of Staubach. He does more with less.
