I think the trend will begin to look like this, Patrick Willis another that retired really early. Can’t blame someone worried about their long term health

If a player has banked tens of millions by their mid to late 20s, yeah it makes no reason to keep playing.

What good is all that money if your health after football, which could mean 40-50 years of life, is compromised?

Then guys like Luck, if they completed their degree from an elite school, would have all kinds of career opportunities while still in their 20s or early 30s.

He left $20 million on the table that was left on his deal, for 2 more years.

He chose health.
