I was surprised on the Simmons podcast to hear him say (of all people) that he thought Rice and LT were the two best players of his lifetime and that Brady was probably next on Mount Rushmore

I understand the argument that Rice has a bigger gap between him and the next best receiver than Brady does to the next best QB, likewise for the dominance of LT defensively. However because QB is the most valuable position I assumed that Brady should just be considered the overall GOAT too.

So where do you stand - should Rice be considered GOAT because of how dominant he was for the WR position, or should Brady have it for being the best at the most valuable position?

Despite the different eras and rules for each players I would take Jerry Rice. Plus the 49ers played in a much better and tougher division and conference. Rice never had the pleasure of playing teams like the Dolphins, Jets and Buffalo for nearly 2 decades.
