I feel the same way about Jonathan Taylor. If it hadn't been for that weird 2-3 week stretch of rough play in the middle of the season he would have been a strong contender.

Weird 2-3 week stretch of rough play? He was a total non-factor for the first 9 games of the season. 428 yards on 3.78 yards per carry. That's not going to get it done. I love Jonathan Taylor as a Wisconsin guy obviously, but the dude looked like another Wisconsin failure at RB until the last 6 games of the season and playoffs.

I think they should have been Co-ROY. Both seasons were historic. Herbert's was the best rookie season of all time from a statistical standpoint while Jefferson is in the top 10.

Colts had a true running back committee for half the season so it was hard for Taylor to get into any sort of rhythm, and there was definitely a learning curve as well I know he struggled hitting the right holes in the early part of the season. But once the Colts phased out Wilkins that's when Taylor was really able to shine. That stretch at the end of the season was enough to put him into the top 3 imo.

Chase Young says hello. Tristan Wirfs was also better even if they're not going to give a Tackle ROY.

I was thinking Chase Young. No one talks about him but he's the only one who made the Pro Bowl which means he's already one of the best at his position right now.

Herbert was amazing breaking all those records and his coach was extremely conservative, ran it on 1st and 2nd down, would get a lead and then run it repeatedly, etc, so it's surprising he was able to put up those numbers and break those records, all in 15 games. Had he played in all 16 games he would have likely broken more records.

Justin Jefferson was obviously awesome too. And it's not like he was playing with the best QB.

Really a competitive field.

Being a success as a rookie at the QB position is much more difficult than other positions. Herbert deserved it. He will be an elite QB within a few years.

I guess this wasn't the official rookie of the year award and was a fan vote. The official AP rookie of the year is announced tomorrow apparently.

I think they do offense and defense too so I'm sure Chase Young gets the other one.

Yeah, just look at how many high profile busts there are, like Rosen and Darnold. Obviously that draft had some good ones like Jackson, Allen and maybe Mayfield, but they took awhile...at least all but Jackson.

Herbert hit the ground running when finding out he was starting 10 minutes before kickoff against the SB champs and had a great first game....they nearly won that game...needed some crazy Mahomes plays to win, like a 4th and 15 scramble for a first to put it into OT.

They also had a big lead against TB due to Herbert, up 24-7 right before halftime and forced a punt with less than a minute left, but then ran it inside their own 10 and fumbled to give TB a TD before the half and momentum going into halftime.

Then led the Saints and would have won if a FGA didn't hit the upright at the end.
