His career is over. So sad for the deceased. This was totally unnecessary considering the NFL and most teams have a car service.

That is manslaughter his career is done and he'll probably be in prison for a few years. Very sad.

My family was involved in an incident like this. My only comment is the laws (at least out here in Arizona) are far too lenient towards DUI which results in death.

I’ll wait for the facts to come out but if he was drunk I hope he does considerable time. Inexcusable in todays day and age

No she didn't. A second person was killed and a third was seriously injured. He was originally charged with 2nd degree murder. That was plead down to manslaughter. The plea deal was 5+5 so 10 years total.

I'm not trying to be on a moral high ground here by any means but that's crazy that you can do 10 years for taking two lives. The guy's impairment was over a .30% by the way.

So yeah, if he was drunk, I hope he does some serious time.

I remember when this happened. Forgot the outcome. But he essentially paid the family & got off.

It happened in 2003 too with Dwayne Goodrich. He was convicted of Criminally Negligent Homicide and was sentenced to 7 1/2 years.

I’ll wait until everything comes out. But if he is found guilty, I hope they throw the book at him. Not because I dislike Ruggs or anything, but because I think the consequences for this is already far too lenient. Many times people get off with essentially just a slap on the wrist.

There is no reason or excuse to be drinking and driving, especially in today’s age with all of the ways to get around (especially in a city like LV).

Driving a vehicle drunk is pretty much as dangerous of a thing a normal person can do. We are talking about thousands of pounds of metal driving at very high speeds. Sorry but screw anyone who decides to do this.

Yeah - this whole thing is beyond messed up. Ruggs' girlfriend is in serious condition also and they have a 1 year daughter together. Apparently he was at Top Golf earlier.

So now you have not only the victims' family completely devastated but also the Ruggs' family. And not to mention the collateral damage. His NFL career is the least of his problems right now.

What an idiot. If you’re drunk then ask your girlfriend to drive. If she is drunk, get an Uber or Lyft. Or call up a car service place, there are plenty in LV.

But no you decide to drive and you screw over multiple people and families.

I just have zero sympathy for people who decide to drive drunk. Like I said in my other post. If found guilty, I hope they throw the book at him. And I hope as a society we agree to worsen the consequences for drinking while drunk.
