Urban Fired

Post#1 » by Duke4life831 » Thu Dec 16, 2021 5:43 am

I don’t think many thought it was going to be a long marriage but I won’t lie, I thought he was going to last the entire season before he was out.

Hopefully this is good news for Trevor.

Former Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo says he was kicked by Urban Meyer during warmups

Lambo reported the incident to the team’s legal counsel through his agent but never met with them.

Then Lambo was approached by head coach Urban Meyer, who doesn’t call Jaguars specialists by their names.
“It was ‘Kicker, Punter, Long snapper,’” Lambo said. “Or S--tbag, Dips--t or whatever the hell it was.”
The names didn’t bother Lambo, but what the former Florida Gators coach did next, Lambo said, were the actions of a mean-spirited bully.

“I’m in a lunge position. Left leg forward, right leg back,” Lambo said. “... Urban Meyer, while I’m in that stretch position, comes up to me and says, ‘Hey Dips--t, make your f--king kicks!’ And kicks me in the leg.”
Lambo spoke for the first time publicly about what he said happened to him in an interview with the Tampa Bay Times.

Urban and Petrino both lasted 13 games

Petrino went 3-10

Urban went 2-11

Guess he's the loser now lol.

What makes you think that? The Steelers rarely make changed and have had like 3 coaches in 53 years. However, it is Tomlin's 15th year and Cowher coached 15, but he was older.

I think he's a solid coach but the problem is Ben is washed and was missing last year. Can only expect so much. They could start over but I am not sure I would other than at QB...need to get someone good in the draft.

I just think he's ready for a change...I could see him going to Seattle if Pete leaves. Literally just speculation on my part lol

It's pretty rare you see guys leave one job for another in the NFL without being fired. Belichick I guess kind of did going to the Pats from the Jets...though he was fired from the Browns first.

I can't really think of any others though.

I'd be surprised. The Steelers gave him an opportunity at a young age, are very very loyal to their coaches, will understand if they struggle while moving to a young QB in a tough division, etc. I am unsure of their ownership situation (other than I'm sure it's still in the family but imagine the tradition carries on).

I think with the Steelers they will stick to a coach who has mostly done well if they are a consistently tough team and will understand things like not being as good when Ben was out last year or coming back much older this year, etc.
