That’s a dub for the 9ers. Are you kidding me? He’s going to be amazing in that system. Who has him in fantasy Jesus Christ

I believe they still have two third round picks in 2023.

They gave up a 2nd, 3rd & 4th (2023). Tankathon shows them having only a 5th & two (7th rounders) after this trade.

Draft picks are overrated imo. 9ers are in win now mode.

Assuming he stays healthy, then it's great for them. But given his recent history that's certainly a risk. They also don't have the greatest luck with RB injuries.

He’s the closest thing to Faulk we’ve had. You are too young to remember him but he pushed the rams over the top in the early 00s

I get it. But they just keep collecting guys with injury histories. Deebo, Kittle have had trouble staying on the field. Including Garoppolo. CMC is no different. Which is why this will likely end up being either boom or bust for them.

Call me a skeptic.

I would never call you a skeptic but come on…this is talent. I love this team so much now. Contemplating changing my emoji to the 9ers after this

Imagine CMC running the skinny post and beating the cover 2 for a TD. Imaging CMC running I and gaining 7 YPC. Bubble screens. Reverses.

Man if CMC stays healthy, oh boy that guy could put up MVP caliber numbers in that offense. Jimmy G needs to step up.

I'm of two minds on this. Overall I'd lean towards it being a negative, but would happy to eat crow.

On the one hand the 49ers' issues (other than injuries) have been inconsistent line play and QB limitations. I don't see how a RB will suddenly fix either. I also don't love giving up so much draft capital for a non-premium position. An elite interior D-lineman? A CB to replace Mosely? A better center? And that's before we start talking about how complicated Shannahan's system is to learn.

On the other hand you can't change QBs mid-season and expect to win and the defense (when healthy) is already elite so the best place to add is probably on offense. You don't need another TE or WR and adding a new OL would make the inconsistencies even worse. So... if you're going to take a swing the only logical choice seems to be a RB.
