Mike Evans has had 10 straight seasons with 1,000+ yards recieving

This is a monsterous feat, the only person to have more is Jerry Rice with 11.
Why does it seem like Evans is underrated and has never been appreciated as a HOF calibre WR?

He's been consistently above-average. However, he only has one or two all-pro selections if I am not mistaken.

Bill Simmons has been pumping him like crazy lately.
Probably because he's a relatively 'boring' possession WR and plays in a tiny market. He's also never been 5 top at his possession and has been a borderline top 10 guy for awhile.

He probably should come home to H-Town and play with Stroud next season.

Mike Evans may go down as the WR version of Frank Gore. Consistently very good with a few borderline top 5 seasons, but overall never a solidified top 5 player at his position.

He has a chance to take that record from Rice next season. I'll definitely be putting a sizable bet on it when that line opens.

What's crazy is that Evans is still 10,000 yards away from Rice's all time yardage. Because Rice played all the way to age 42.
That really highlights how much the league has changed, there is no WR that could play that long today. Julio Jones is 35 and he has been done a while now. The NFL demands so much more speed at that position than it did in Rice's day. Once you lose a step that is it.

That's not the only reason, even by the end of year 11 Rice had significantly more yards. Evans has 5 seasons where he barely made it to 1000 yards, by year 11 Rice had 5 seasons where he went over 1500 yards.

True, Rice was also just a much more elite WR than Evans is.
