You're a harsh critic.

The only pick I was not a huge fan of was Knight. But that's mostly because he's viewed as a boom/bust player. He's a project with upside. Macdonald with his LB background handpicked him. So, we'll see if he pans out.

What did you dislike about the Laumea pick? It was perceived relatively well & as good value that late in the draft. He could be a starter down the line. Worse case: He's quality depth. Not a lot to dislike over that pick.

Haynes was the best pure Guard in the draft. Best value pick. It turns out both he & Cooper Beebe we're their top two targets on day two of the draft. They got lucky that Haynes fell to them.

Murphy was BPA. Easy choice.

I’ll go pick by pick and explain the grade I’m a Seahawk fan anyway and would love to talk about their draft

Murphy pick was really good. There were a few guys on the board I would’ve rather had but he was one of the best available guys and was a huge need I liked it a lot (rare for Seattle FRPs in my time) although I would’ve liked Newton or us trading down and trying to get a second round pick

I could’ve given Haynes an A- since he was the best IOL left on the board when we picked (so close to getting Beebe) and we needed one but there were better players available and guys at positions of need we could’ve taken but it was one of the picks we could’ve made that I would’ve made

Knight pick was really bad especially that early in the draft. He’s really small and a project guy that’s already 23 years old and there were a good amount of better LBs we could’ve had and knight is more of a overhang/slot guy in the nfl than he is a true inside LB

Barner pick was nice we needed a blocking TE and he can be a release valve in the passing game so no complaints there

I thought 136 was a little high for Pritchett. It seemed more like a special teams pickup and we still had needs to address (I thought this would’ve been the perfect spot to get James Williams as a Jamal adams replacement).

I thought Laumea was closer to a 7th round/UDFA guy than an earlier 6th rounder. he was a versatile guy in college but idk if he’s athletic enough or long enough to be a tackle in the nfl and he really struggles in pass pro which we don’t need more of and we still hadn’t drafted a Safety an edge or an actual inside LB

Think DJ James can be a nice Rotational slot corner and he’s a good athlete so it was a nice get at 192

I thought there was a sizeable gap between Murphy & Newton as prospects. I had Murphy as a top 10-12 player with a higher ceiling. It's also come out that Newton had a medical red flag & that's why he dropped. Mike Macdonald will get the best out of him. I'm of the belief that trading out would've been foolish on their part. That's how Schneider has gotten in trouble in the past. Murphy was just too good to pass up.

Haynes will end up being one of the better guard's in this draft. Again, great value. A starting IOL in the 3rd Round.

The jury is still out on the Knight pick. Again, he was handpicked by Macdonald. Who's kind of known as a LB'er guru of sorts. So, we'll see how that ends up panning out?

Laumea is a Guard. He played some Tackle in college. But he's an OG.

ILB is the one area I'm a little concerned about depth wise. An injury or two to Baker or Dodson could spell trouble.

Fwiw this guy was a big fan of their draft! He loves the Knight pick.

I thought Pittsburgh had by far the best draft. Chicago & Washington are the most improved teams. People **** on the Penix pick, but that will work out for them in the long run. He's a franchise QB.

Love the Philly grade but would have taken ARNOLD as the next Surtain II. We are super bowl bound for 2024!!!

Yea I would’ve preferred Arnold or Kool-Aid but you can’t really go wrong with any of the top CBs in the draft

Both plays fundamentally solid coverage at Bama but Arnold plays the entire field like a safety, not just at the corner. We'll regret it after his rookie season as the Lions chance at winning the SB now are much better with a lock down defender.

Lol he takes way too many risk chasing picks. That might work in college but not in the NFL facing elite QB and receivers where Quinyon can get burned for many TD when his calling card is not working. He could be the next Justine Gilbert who plays with reckless abandon.

Mitchell is a stud. He's a good fit for them. Arnold is a good player too. I like both. But would lean Quinyon.

Dude is from Florida, yet he didn't want to commit to any major Power Five conference programs by rolling with a small mac school instead to be able to dominate weaker competition, so well done but then again some people think all competitions are at the same level, even in the NFL.

This is like the 3rd draft in a row I’ve given them a grade that’s at least an A- they got to eventually

I'm not usually high on mid-round Baalke picks, but I genuinely think Jarrian Jones could be a stud if he's used right

He was one of the best man slot corners in college last year, has great athleticism and ball skills, he just could not play outside. So as long as we play him in the slot, he could be really good. Hate the Jefferson pick, don't like the Smith pick though. Massive boom or bust swings, and he's never been good at hitting those

Love trading back and getting BTJ though.

Broncos gets a fat F here. I am certain Payton is either trying to embarrassed or piss off the Broncos owners to fire him with that guaranteed contract already in the bag.

Like how could he pass up taken Arnold at 12 to play opposite Surtain II as bookend lock down corners, but reach for an old QB that's likely still be there when they picked again or at least trade way down since Bo has no upside after 5 seasons of college play. He would probably stay longer until he found out some coach wants to turn him into the next Brees and has the power to draft him in the lottery Lol. I seriously doubt any other team had him in the first round which shows how foolish it was to give a lunatic full control of player personnel. They already traded for a younger Zach who may just need a change of scenery to resurrect his career, yet this HC has some love-hate relationship thing going on with QBs regardless of actual production. Well I will be rooting for the Steelers with Mr Unlimited out for some serious payback when they hook-up in week 2 with his wife blessings. That's what self-serving bums deserve.

I think their mid round picks were good enough to avoid the draft not being an F (especially getting Troy Franklin with a non top 100 pick) but yea getting Bo Nix at 12 was really bad but there was no way in hell they were getting him at 76

I personally think they should’ve traded down and tried to get more day 2 / early day 3 picks because they have so many needs and just an overall lack of talent atm (this opinion is strengthened by them trading for Zach Wilson). If nix was available in the mid 20s they should’ve taken him and I would’ve been more fine with it (although iirc a lot of teams were looking at him in the mid teens so I doubt he would’ve been available) but if he wasn’t that’s fine because there were plenty of really good players at positions of need they could’ve gotten and they would’ve had more picks which they could’ve used and they could’ve just gone for a QB next year because they won’t be any where near a contender this year

Yea I didn’t like a lot of their later picks but when you get the best TE (and arguably Pass catcher) and IOL in the entire draft you have to be happy with the way your draft ended up and they didn’t completely whiff on every other pick so it’s a very good draft I’d have to say
