2025 NFL Off-Season

Post#1 » by Mr B » Sun Jan 12, 2025 6:49 pm

I know the playoffs are still going but the off season has already started for several teams.

I just wanted to point out that in a thread a few weeks ago I mentioned how Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward will certainly be top 3 (now top 5) picks in the draft. I also mentioned that somewhere in the landscape there is a QB that most would consider a mid round pick that will all of sudden climb the boards and will end up a top 10 pick. Well guys, here’s your 3rd top 10 QB. Jaxson Dart.

So, what's Jerry's plan?

Since you're the Cowboys insider. What's the plan?

This must be a thread for all the suckie teams that didn't make the playoffs. We should call this the buzz kill thread. And the off season doesn't start till after the Super Bowl. Who the hell wants to talk about Dumb Dak, Jerry and McCarthy for another 3 years. Another rinse and repeat coming. So exciting. :sleep3:

Pickens and Hill are probably gone close to day 1 of the draft. Both should have good value

Philly has to resign Baun to a new deal and I thunk Reed Blankenship

Same as it always is, to **** up the season. He’s stuck with Dak for at very least 1 more season. So they will not be drafting a QB, at least not high. More than likely they draft Ashton Jeanty at 12 although that would not be what I would do.

Is it derailing? It's a thread about teams who missed the playoffs essentially. Well, that includes the Cowboys.

Bengals have $58 million in cap space. Would be cool if they cut some of the dead weight, to increase that number.

Burrow suggested he may restructure too.

They need 8 defensive starters. I am not sure Tee re-signs, given that reality.

I think the first question the Bengals need to answer is who is going to be the HC? Do they bring back Zac Taylor? Just curious but what is the state of their OL?

They fired his assistants but not him, it would be odd to see a coach get fired a week into the coaching carousel.

They need to invest in Oline for sure, I'd even sacrifice Higgins to get a good lineman or two. Good quarterbacks can survive with one good receiver.

Unfortunately it will be Zac at HC. They fired their DC so need to sign a guy for that. They also fired their O-Line coach who called their 3rd down runs, so need to hire a guy for that as well.

The state of their O line is... LT Orlando Brown Jr was decent the 11 games he played. He has a bunch of money on his deal, so he'll be here.

LG they have no one; Volson started the season there but got benched, he's awful.

C - Karras is meh. They should probably kick him over to LG but we'll see who the next O line coach is. Karras gets pushed back too easily.

RG is Cappa, he is awful. 1st amongst guards in the NFL in pressures and hurries allowed. Tied 1st in sacks allowed. He should be cut, only $2.5 million dead cap. Bengals are cheap though, doubt they cut him.

RT rookie Mims struggled with injuries off and on all season after the place holder starter Trent Brown was lost for the season.

Cody Ford, i also just want to mention him as a guy they need to re-sign. He started games at LT, RT, and LG this season. That versatility is so valuable. He is a jack of all trades, master of none type guy.

Yea you’re right about that. I think Taylor can be a good HC but he clearly needs help. It will be interesting to see which way they go.
