I know the draft hasnt went down yet, but Id like to know where all of you think teams stand as of now. You dont have to make the list complete if you dont want. Maybe just the top 5 teams of each(NFC+AFC), although I encorrage you to do more

I'd rather to wait till August

after the draft.

Err?... Are we already forgetting last year's draft?

Addai for the Colts, Hester for the Bears, Maroney for the Pats, McNeil for the Chargers, Ferguson for the Jets, Colston and Bush for the Saints...

Rookies have a HUGE impact on contending teams and low-tier teams alike. So it's hard to judge which team will be tops, which team will not, previous to the draft.

Wrong, this isn't the NBA..You can find an impact player in the later rounds.

well since no one else wants to just waste some time and have some discussions started (and is boring, like that one guy said), I'll go ahead and give you my top 5 right now. I/we can always come back and rank the teams again after the draft, and in fact, I think it might get more discussion going by doing it this way, because we can see how our top 5 change between now and then after the draft. So here's my top 5:


AFC:
1) COLTS - gotta put the defending champs 1st as of now, even though I think a lot of other AFC teams have made offseason moves that will put them over the Colts.
2) PATRIOTS - they are always one of the best teams, even with their no-name players that Brady turns into stars, so there's no reason to not put them this high after they've gone and had a busy offseason.
3) BRONCOS - I liked the move to put Cutler in last year, it might have cost them the playoffs last year, but it will be to their advantage this year to not have him starting his first career game this year. also, they've brought in some good players in the offseason
4) CHARGERS - pretty much the same players coming back and they had a great team, the only reason I don't have them ranked higher is because of the coaching change and we'll see how they adapt to it (it could have no impact or it could take a few games to getting used to).
5) RAVENS - Their 'D' will always help them being ranked high, and their offense is looking to take good shape (it looked good last year, and I think it has improved this offseason).

NFC:
1) BEARS - Their 'D' will be strong again, and I think Grossman will play better this year (seeing how he hasn't played that many games as a starter, he's still takin some time to adapt). and after all, he did lead them to the superbowl when he wasn't playing consistently well.
2) SAINTS - I like Brees (and have even when he was at SD) and I think his impact showed last year and will continue to. also, they had bush handed to them which only helped even more.
3) COWBOYS - this is a team where I think the coaching change will help the team (unlike SD where I'm unsure of what the coaching change will do).
4) EAGLES - I think McNabb will come back and play like his old self and have the team as one of the best in the NFC again.
5) SEAHAWKS - I think the NFC is going to be weak again (especially the NFC west), and I think the Seahawks will by default be the team that emerges out of there (but I put them at 5 because I think they kinda starting going down from their peak, and the other 3 teams in the nfc west last year were close to them, so I think one of them could potentially pass them this year).



well that's my 5 from each conference as of now, but I'll do it again after the draft (maybe not with the explanations, but I'll still re-rank the top 5 (if needed). Hopefully this will get some more people doing this now just to get discussions started (seeing how it takes just as long to type your top 5 as it does to come here and type a message about wanting to wait until after the draft). I just want football season to get here again!!

YOU MISSED THE ENTIRE POINT. POINT IS, YES LOWER PICKS WILL HAVE A VERY SIGNIFICANT IMPACT, BUT NOBODY WILL KNOW WHICH PLAYERS WILL IMPACT WHICH TEAMS MORE THAN OTHERS EVEN AFTER THE DRAFT. EVEN WHEN HE WAS DRAFTED, NOBOBDY KNEW COLSTON WOULD HAVE BEEN THIS GOOD.

Actually Icness did predict that Colston would have been good.

And, by having those draft picks, it's easier to guage what the talent level on that team might be, compared to previous to the draft.

I mean...seriously, a lot of people's lists right now would probably differ not too much from last year's stadnings.

The only NFC ranking I was really confident in was rating the eagles #1, the Nfc is a toss up. I chose the Packers over the Bears because i think the Bears O-line will be less effective, unproven 2 back system (if adrian peterson is going to play) and Rex Grossman at QB. They also are losing d-line depth and possibly Briggs

Icness really thought Colston would be good? I remember BBJ bragging about how he predicted Colston to be a steal of the draft.
