so which teams are the big market teams? middle market teams? or the small market teams? i think we should complete the list. here's my contribution on the subject. feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

Are the Raiders middle market? I'd imagine small - we don't sell out the Coliseum on a regular basis... and we never seem to be able to afford the marquee FAs, we always sign vets to backloaded deals w/minimal bonuses and cut them.

This is far less of an issue the way the NFL is set up anyways. NFL teams don't have to rely on regional TV revenue like they do in baseball.

I wouldn't say Houston is a small market, just a crappy team.

With the Raiders it is a cap problem, when they were a team that players wanted to play for, we had no cap room, now none of the top guys wwant to play for the worst team in the league.

They may be terrible, but the Cards have been sold out the past 2 seasons and are in the 5th biggest city in the US. But then again I am not really sure what make a team fit into the criteria....stinking up the joint may factor in

That seems to be the criterion for Houston and Detroit, as well.
