Great move. The pick is a fifth rounder.

Eagles fans don't seem to like him a whole lot. Most believe he's one of the main reasons the Eagles run D has been so bad, he's not the sole reason it's been bad, but he was definitely a contributing factor. As well, as that, he's not very consistent either, will play good one game then disappear for weeks.

This move also saves the Eagles a 6th round pick, because if he didn't report to the Bills, and had to return to the Eagles, they would've had to give up a 6th rounder instead.

Pretty good move for both parties

The Bears fill the hole Tank Johnson created and the Bills save face.

Okay, so he demands out of Philly because they won't redo his deal. He refuses to report to Buffalo because they won't redo his deal. He goes to CHI, which has absolutely no $$ or cap room to redo his deal, and he's happy?!?

The only way this works for the Bears is if they're trimming cap somewhere else off their D, or Jerry Angelo is backloading the guaranteed $$ in Walker's new deal. Otherwise they're not going to be able to afford both Harris and Urlacher, both of whom will get new deals next summer, plus the CBs they just re-upped, and also Grossman, who hits FA next summer.

On the field, though, this pretty much ensures the Bears won't drop off near as much as they were going to. Very strong pickup for a very small price.

You think the Bears will drop off from last year? We're bringing back the exact same starting defense except for an upgrade at SS in Archuleta and and upgrade at DT with Walker. Not to mention Tommie Harris and Mike Brown are both returning from injury and Briggs is back.

This is a huge move for the Bears as the DT position was the only one on defense without great depth outside of Harris.
