Had Strahan given the Giants further notice, then I could understand his friend's point of view of being pushed aside. However, not showing up and not being straightforward with the team isn't fair to the team. They have a season to worry about. Though his career move is important to the team, he shouldn't have made it the headline of their training camp by not reporting.

Let's assume that he changed his mind at the start of training camp. He should've been more clear to his team right off the bat and then his fans about what he's pondering or else it's obvious the media will add their twist.

The fact that he witnessed the Barber issue last season firsthand should've given him an idea of how to handle his indecisiveness. He's been in the league long enough to know how the business works when you're not clear with the media and the team.

The situation has been overblown, but it seems Giants can live without old Strahan. At least they didn't do what Titans did to McNair. THAT was a disgrace.
