He hit a little slide in the Cleveland series and that is it

Giambi better give Arod protection and he should, or else it will be a long year

Our lineups will consist of Melky a few times per week as Torre will have to give guys days off, Dougie will get his starts too as his glove is great. Nieves will have to start 1-2 days a week to give Posada a rest.

HITTING IS NOT OUR WORRY, OUR PITCHING IS. We lead the league in runs scored. OUR ERA IS 25TH. IN PART BECAUSE OUR FIELDING PERCENTAGE is TIED FOR 4TH WORST.

This team has glaring weaknesses. The pitching better get healthy soon or else the deficit is going to be too much to overcome

Cano isn't hitting up to his potential. That is all I said. Giambi wasn't giving Arod protection before but he has been playing pretty well the past week. Melky will start but him hitting .200 is no where near the .280+ he hit last year. Melky so far this year has pretty much been an automatic out and he wasn't last year. Nieves will play once every few games like every backup catcher does for Posada and Doug should play because of his glove. However, putting in Melky, Doug and Nieves in the lineup together is a horrible idea and we had to go through that because of injuries and matchups. Especially if Melky is still hitting .200.

Hitting isn't our worry but that is a cause for our slow start, that some of those games we lost we might have won if our offense was playing like normal and a few guys weren't slumping with only Arod to really pick them up. After the first 2-3 games we have been solid with the infield defense. Arod, Jeter, Cano and Doug are all gold glove winners or gold glove winning type defensive players in the infield so I don't worry about that being a big issue going down. Pitching is a problem, partly due to injuries and parly because of poor play. Let's get our rotation back healthy, let's get this lineup fully out of this slump(pretty close to that now) and then let's see where we are. It isn't all gloom and doom in Yankee land and Boston is not running away with it. -Jitpal
