Most difficult position to play in Football

which position in football is the toughest to play? most people will say QB cause he's the leader of the pack, he has to remember all the plays and the offense and etc...

but i'm going to say it's the cornerback. CB in my opinion is the hardest position to play. they need to be physically talented (speed, toughness) and they also need the brain to know how to cover and shut down skilled wide receivers.

I agree with cornerbacks. I think 7 out 10 times, they are going to get burnt. Unless you are currently Champ Bailey.

Oh most difficult is Cornerback easily IMO, I was a receiver, and I don't envy that job.

"Toughest" would be runningback, there is a reason they don't last.

For what it's worth, I was a DE, LB, and even SS a few times 8)

Cornerback, followed very closely by the offensive linemen.

Quaterback, you have to have pinpoint accuracy, able to read all sorts of defensive schemes. Being a lineman is hard, if you have no sense of leverage.

I gotta say O-Line. On top of all the hard work they have to put into their game with their stances and offensive packeges etc, they barely ever get recognition. Plus, there's usually little personal incentive(sacks, TDs, interceptions, fumbles etc) that can be achieved which easily deems the position "boring". But think about it, the offensive is nothing without the O-Line.

Cornerback is right up there though. They have to have real short memory too.

QB, hands down. Not only do you have to know your own teams plays and formations and audibles, but you have to read the opposing defense, where the blitz is coming from, etc. It's the hardest position to play because its so cerebral.

Hey guys, new to the NFL board, and a relatively new NFL fan.

I'm a Bears fan, and I've noticed that CB was mentioned as being the most difficult.

I have this perception that the weakest link in the Bears defense are their CBs. Is this a misperception due to the CB position being the most difficult? Which leads to the question, just how good are the Bears' CBs compared to the rest of the NFL?

Well, that might be their weak link, but IMO CB isn't the most important spot, even if it is the most difficult to play.

Based on my limited football knowledge, it was pretty apparent to me that when Mike Brown went down a couple of years ago, it spelled disaster for the Bears and our air tight defense actually had weaknesses. Tillman was also well known for getting burned by the quicker, smaller WRs, hence why we lost to the Panthers that year. So are the Bears CB crew average? above average? one of the best?

Mike Brown is a safety, but no I wouldn't say that the Bears CB's are one of the best.

I like the depth of the bears CB's though, above average maybe? Hard to guage a secondary until you see them play with and without a dominant overall defense. They are better than the Saint's CB's for what it's worth

The strength of the Bears defense is the Tommie Harris position
