is it just me or is culpepper playing well in pre-season? i know this is pre-season but he's doing pretty well for a guy everyone thought his career is over or he's becoming a bench material. seems like miami dumped the wrong QB.

Everyone thought his career was over? Not really. Last year he was rushed back too soon which was a stupid move but on the other hand their backup was Joey Harrington so they were screwed either way. Though long term it would have been smarter not to gamble like that, but its the dolphins so who knows.

well, his last two seasons were terrible cause of his injuries. most people think that he's done as a top QB.. or even a starting QB(yes really) but he looked pretty good behind those terrible oakland OL.

Look in front of him: Jeremy Newberry has been outstanding, Robert Gallery finally looks comfortable at guard, Kevin Boothe has looked real good. Plus its preseason--3years ago Joey Harrington looked like Joe Montana all preseason and then turned back into the pumpkin the moment the games started counting.
I think Kohl is a Mome is kinda right too--he came back too quickly and did so on a bad team with a historically awful coach.

^ i know it's pre season but at least he's not choking like the chief's QBs. at least culpepper is showing off what he can do when he's healthy (not entirely). plus, i wonder how this will affect the russell signing. i heard russell was outraged when he heard the raiders signed culpepper. even if russell finally joins the team, i wonder what his relationship with culpepper will be like.. i doubt this mentor-student relationship will happen..

My impressions on the Skins so far:
1. Quote me on this, our defense will be in the top 10. I won't be surprised if we have the best run defense in the NFC too. Our linebackers look tremendous, Rocky McIntosh is playing at a Pro Bowl level. LaRon Landry is having a solid preseason too. Hes been all over the field. Reminds me a lot of Troy Polamalu except much more athletic and I think he will end up being the better covery safety.
2. The offense scares me. Good thing JC is back but I'm still a little weary of it. Portis hasn't taken a snap in almost a year.Betts look like the pre 2006 Betts. Besides Santana, I don't have confidence in either Lloyd or Randle El. They dont need to be #2 options since Cooley is the #2 guy, but we need one of them to step up in the 50-60 catch mould.
3. Our offensive line is in stink mode until Kendall gets named the starter and Samuels gets named the starter. I also want Jon Jansen replaced with Todd Wade at RT.

my other observations:
1. bengals pass defense looks (Please Use More Appropriate Word).... they left man wide out for a touchdown against the lions.. and they let drew brees pass like peyton manning against the saints.. oh god...
2. like culpepper, oakland is playing well in the pre season. a lot people predict they are still the worst team in the league, i don't think so. they have a great defense and their offense is a whole lot better than last season's. they still kinda suck but at least they are not the worst.
3. KC is bad... very bad... LJ not ready, QB situation(*update: damon huard is starting QB!), crappy O-line, no WRs... i don't see them going anywhere this season.. oh, and Brodie Croyle IS TERRIBLE!!!
4. rex grossman still sucks.
